Responsibilities: Obtain patient's health history and accurately enter into Electronic Medical Record Set up and prepare exam room for patient visit to ensure cleanliness Perform any preliminary physical tests and obtain vitals Set up any additional diagnostic and/or treatment equipment Administer injections and perform phlebotomy as needed Complete all documentation pertaining to patient's medical record, test requests, medications and patient education with accuracy and timeliness May perform Scribe duties Assist the physician as directed Must work well in a team environment Qualifications: Experience in a medical office setting and/or graduation from a certified Medical Assistant program is required Certified Clinical Medical Assistan t (CCMA) (Preferred) Bachelor’s degree (Preferred) 1+ years in a medical office Experience with EMR system(s) and medical terminology is required Previous experience at an OBGYN office (Preferred) What’s in it for you? Sign-On Bonus for External applicants or current CHW MA Apprentice Students only About the Practice Rheumatology is an outpatient specialty department located at 3271 Clear Vista Ct. Grand Rapids, MI 49525. This is our primary location where we see a mix of adult patients Monday through Friday, 8am – 5pm. The providers practice out of the Clear Vista, Grand Haven Center, Big Rapids locations. There is currently one physician assistant that see patients at the Grand Haven Center in Grand Haven, MI 3 days/week. There is currently one physician that sees patients two days a week in Big Rapids and a physician assistant that will be seeing patients two days a week in Big Rapids soon. We have a team of 7 physicians, 3 advanced practice providers, nurses, medical assistants, and ambulatory care technicians. This MA would work in tandem with our nurses and providers to support our patients clinically. The MA will assist with patient rooming, medication injections, ultrasound guided injections, vaccine administration, along with chart prepping, patient phone calls, patient MyChart messages, electronic faxes, medication authorizations, and quality assurance tasks. There is an expectation, though very rare, that travel to the Grand Haven and Big Rapids locations would occur if there were staffing needs however, we currently have clinical team members that primarily support the Grand Haven and Big Rapids clinics. Most pediatric patients are seen at the 35 Michigan HDVCH Allergy office. The providers split their time between the adult, Clear Vista location and the HDVCH office. The main diagnosis we see in clinic are environmental, food, and drug allergies along with asthma, chronic hives, and immune deficient problems.
