What you need to know about this position: The Cancer Center houses numerous types of employees ranging from Social Work, Dietary, MA’s, RN’s, Schedulers, Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Pharmacy, and Financial Advocacy. The role our Medical Assistants play may vary but include responsibility for routine back office functions, bringing patients back to exam room, taking and recording basic medical history, and assisting the physicians and/or nurse as needed. The hourly range for this position is between $17.61 and $26.41. Individual compensation is determined for this position through years of directly relevant experience. The hourly compensation is only a portion of the total rewards package and a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions. This position will require you to work primarily 32 hours a week, 8:00am-5:00pm, Monday through Thursday. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Enters provider orders into electronic medical record. Ensures that designated work area is clean and stocked with supplies on an ongoing basis. Keeps physician/nurse practitioner and/or Director informed of any needed repairs pertaining to medical equipment/supplies. Assists physician/nurse practitioner in preparing examining room, equipment, and patients for medical examination by taking medical history, taking vital signs, drawing lab specimens and performing other duties when assigned.
