FTE: 0.01, Shift: Day, Schedule: Monday - Friday Position Summary The Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C) is an integral part of the Physician/Advanced Practice Provider (APP) office team working under the direction and supervision of a licensed healthcare practitioner. Work situations require performance of safe clinical skills within the scope of practice of the MA-C. The MA-C has continuous contact with physicians, APPs, nurses, front office staff, patients and their families/caregivers. Responsibilities: Fulfills patient care responsibilities as assigned which may include: Organizing patient flow in collaboration with the front office staff Interviewing patients Obtaining vital signs Assisting patients in preparing for exams or treatments Performing specimen collection, including venipuncture Administration of medications in compliance with Washington State Department of Health regulations and documented competency Relaying instructions/information to patients and their families/caregivers Fulfills clerical responsibilities as assigned which may include: Sending and receiving of patient medical records Facilitating patient referrals Preparing forms for patients Requirements: Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a healthcare setting preferred Current BLS certification Why MultiCare? Qualifications Required: Completion of a medical assistant program offered by a school accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP); or Military Training or experience may satisfy training and experience requirements. Certified Medical Assistant in the State of Washington and must be familiar with the State's conduct and standards of practice Current Surgical Technologist Registration in the State of Washington within 30 days of hire as applicable, depending on location Current BLS AHA Health Provider Card (or equivalent course, such as by the American Red Cross) and renewal required every two year.
