Registered Nurse - PICU (0.9FTE, Nights) Up to $15,000 sign-on bonus and relocation assistance available for experienced pediatric ICU RNs that meet eligibility requirements. No pediatrics experience? No problem! If you have experience working with adult populations, we will provide training on working with pediatric patients and their families while leveraging the adult RN experience you already have. We will personalize an orientation just for you to set you up for success in the pediatric specialty you are hired for. The PICU has 40 beds with 8 additional expansion beds specifically dedicated to pediatric critical care for tracheotomy, CRRT, vents, organ transplant, and bone marrow transplant with research and ECMO services. There is a strong team of clinical educators and preceptors to ensure your successful training and support whether you are experienced or new to pediatrics. Typical training period can range from 10 weeks or more to effectively give your resources to attain competency and expertise in our PICU. As an integral member of the Health Care Team, the RN functions within the Scope of Practice as defined by the State, the ANA Scope and Standards for Pediatric Nursing Practice, and adheres to Seattle Children's policies/procedures and guidelines of care. Responsible for providing safe, family centered patient care. Using the Nursing Care Process, the RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care in a collaborative method with the patient and patient's family, significant others, and members of the health care team. May be required to provide supervision and delegation of tasks to Nurse Technicians, Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Medical Assistants, Certified Nursing Assistants, and others as defined by the State Administrative Code. The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is a 48-bed quaternary care unit and the only Level IV NICU in Washington that receives referrals from four states: Washington, Alaska, Montana, and Idaho (WAMI). Patients in the NICU are neonates up to 50 weeks post-gestational age. It is unique from a traditional NICU as many of the patients have congenital diagnoses requiring specialized pre-operative surgical and postoperative surgical care. Critically ill neonates with complex medical issues are also cared for in this unit. Specialized care provided includes ECMO/ECLS, cooling, in-room surgical procedures, high frequency oscillatory ventilation, use of inhaled nitric oxide, etc. The NICU charge nurse responds to all Code Blue events in the hospital. Case Manager, RN - Care Coordination 1.0 FTE, 40hrs per week, 8hr shifts. Start time 630AM, 7AM or 730AM. Has responsibility, in collaboration with the health care team and family, for the coordination of care for specific patient populations from admission through discharge. Registered Nurse, Transport Team, 0.9FTE Nights, 6PM-6AM This position will float to the following locations: Main Hospital, North Clinic in Everett, South Clinic in Federal Way. Relocation assistance available. As an integral member of the Transport Team, the Transport RN functions within the Scope of Practice as defined by Washington State, the ANA Scope and Standards for Pediatric Nursing Practice, and adheres to Seattle Children's Hospital policies/procedures and guidelines of care. Responsible for the safety of patients prior to and during transport to medical care facilities. This includes the provision of basic patient care as well as advanced life support measures required to stabilize the critically ill or injured patient, demonstration of proficiency in neonatal and pediatric critical care nursing and knowledge of the adaptations necessary for patient management in the ambulance or aircraft and during transit. The Transport Nurse must also be familiar with ambulance and aircraft operating procedures and safety practices. Assists in meeting Seattle Children's strategic goals by incorporating the initiatives to support the strategic plans into the daily work, i.e. Continuous Improvement and Innovation (CII), ART, etc. The Transport RN serves as a team lead within the mobile transport team and may be required to provide supervision and delegation to other Registered Nurses, Respiratory Therapists, or Emergency Medical Technicians who are members of the mobile transport team. Must be available for call. This position may be based at Main Campus or at one of the off campus bases. Registered Nurse - Cardiac Specialty Unit (0.9 FTE, Nights) The Cardiac Specialty Unit is intended to provide a bidirectional capability (step down and step up) for patients whose care needs are not optimally supported by either the CICU or acute care ward.
