Responsibilities Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN) Full-time, Night Shift position located at Corona Regional Medical Center in Corona, CA The tradition of caring that culminated in the establishment of Corona Regional Medical Center® began in 1965, with the founding of Corona Community Hospital. Acts as team members on multiple units while being assigned to one unit per shift. The Float RN does not have a physical home unit, but instead functions out of a home department and is assigned to units on an as needed basis which can be daily or longer to cover vacancies and leaves. For providing maximum flexibility the Float RN will receive supplemental pay. Performs nursing process with minimal supervision and seeks assistance as necessary. Utilizes discretion and independent judgment in applying the nursing process to the provision of age-specific and developmentally appropriate quality patient care. Exhibits flexibility by rotating within the cluster for those units the Float RN has obtained competency. Functions in a skills mix environment and directly supervises and delegates tasks to licensed and unlicensed staff while working with various healthcare members as part of a multidisciplinary team on a particular unit. Your Role on the Team Position Summary Reporting to the Administrative Nurse, the clinical nurse provides patient care to an assigned group of patients focusing on meeting the clinical needs of the clinic. Incumbent will perform patient assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation. Assists with procedures and patient education. The nurse incorporates the psycho-motor and age appropriate cognitive skills of the patient/family/significant other utilizing knowledge of patient assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation. Required to float to all UCI Health Location as needed. Required Qualifications What It Takes to be Successful Required to float to all UCI Heatlh locations as needed. PALS certification upon hire Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job Minimum of 6 months demonstrated nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory care setting Knowledge and practice of body mechanics Knowledge and practice of age related acuity levels Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English Demonstrated knowledge and practice of infection control techniques All external candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Ability to maintain flexibility and work well in a constantly changing environment Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System 2 years current Interventional GI experience Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays Preferred Qualifications Understanding of JCAHO requirements Previous experience in medical surgical ICU Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms Experience in Gastroenterology Demonstrated GI/endoscopy experience Bilingual skills to communicate effectively with patients and families Licenses And Certifications Current California RN license Current BLS certification Current ACLS certification PALS certification upon hire Total Rewards We offer a wealth of benefits to make working at UCI even more rewarding.
