Applicants must be prepared to provide: A complete five-year employment history when requested. Verifiable previous caregiving employment and experience. Accurate information regarding previous caregiving responsibilities and employment. Professional employment references are required. Personal references alone may not satisfy the professional-reference requirement for this assignment. ATTENDANCE & RELIABILITY ARE EXTREMELY IMPORTANT Our clients and their families depend on caregivers arriving on time, prepared, and ready to provide care. Remain for the entire scheduled shift. Never leave a dependent client unattended without authorization. Never leave before the relieving caregiver arrives when continuous coverage is required. Complete an appropriate caregiver-to-caregiver handoff before departing. Immediately contact management if an emergency or unexpected circumstance could affect attendance. Repeated lateness, failure to communicate, excessive call-outs, failure to confirm scheduled shifts, no-call/no-shows, or leaving a dependent client before appropriate relief arrives are serious violations of agency expectations. AWAKE OVERNIGHT POSITION – ABSOLUTELY NO SLEEPING For caregivers working 7:00 PM–7:00 AM, this is an AWAKE overnight assignment. Sleeping while on duty is strictly prohibited. Night-shift caregivers must remain awake, alert, responsive, attentive, and available to the client throughout the entire 12-hour shift. Caregivers may not sleep on the client's couch, recliner, bed, chairs, floor, or other household furniture. Caregivers may not use the client's blankets, pillows, bedding, or other personal belongings for sleeping or personal comfort. The fact that the client may be sleeping does not mean the caregiver's responsibilities stop. Overnight responsibilities may include: Regular client checks according to the care plan. Incontinence and personal care. Repositioning. Hydration. Toileting assistance. Safety monitoring. Laundry. Light housekeeping. Preparing the client's environment for the following day. Completing required documentation. Responding promptly whenever the client requires assistance. Sleeping while responsible for a client is a serious violation of agency policy and may result in immediate removal from the assignment and disciplinary action up to and including termination. PERSONAL CELLPHONE POLICY Personal cellphone use must remain limited while providing client care. Extended personal telephone conversations, social-media use, watching videos, texting, or other personal activities that interfere with client care, supervision, or assigned responsibilities are not acceptable. The caregiver's primary attention must remain focused on the client and assigned responsibilities throughout the shift.
