Serves as a resource for wound care management, including identification, assessment, treatment, and prevention. Within scope and experience, Pprovides specialized consultation on wound, ostomy, and continence issues for patients, families, nursing and medical staff. Serves as a consultant in the management of patients with draining wounds, fistula and tubes. Serves as a consultant for the treatment of patients with altered skin integrity due to pressure necrosis, drainage or incontinence. Works with physicians and nursing staff to provide updated information regarding wound care. Conducts rounds on all patients with wound/pressure ulcers and pressure injuries on an as needed basis.
