POSITION SUMMARY This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice utilizing the framework for professional nursing practice and development. Triages patient calls and evaluates patient problems. • Opening and closing of sternotomies, emergency opening of post op cardiac patient, emergency intubation, perform required would care under the direction of the CT Attending. • Educator and trainer for nurses, residents and fellows. • Participates in quality management and performance improvement activities. • Call coverage may be required specific to departmental needs.
