Job Description MH: House Support-( Unscheduled, Varied Shift)- Job Summary: The RN-Critical Care Resource Team (CCRT) is a highly skilled licensed registered nurse that functions in a fast-paced environment and is competent to provide all levels of care (emergency, intensive, step-down, acute) to pediatric and adult patients with complex medical conditions. Serves as a member of the Code Blue, Stroke, ST Elevation Myocardial Infarctions (STEMI), Sepsis and Rapid Response Teams. The CCRT RN does not have a physical home unit, but instead, functions out of a home department and readily accepts patient care assignments throughout the organization as needed to support patient care needs including, but not limited to, transporting critical and/or cardiac monitored patients, assisting nurses with patient lifts, placing difficult intravenous therapy catheters, performing procedural conscious sedation support and serving as a consult to other bedside nurses with complex patients and expediting admissions, transfers and discharges. Based on business needs, may be required to accept full or partial patient assignments. Utilizes discretion and independent judgment in applying the nursing process to the provision of age-specific and developmentally appropriate quality patient care whether on an inpatient unit, emergency department or in ancillary clinical care areas. Serves as an exemplary role model in patient care delivery methods and consistently demonstrates an advanced level of clinical practice, communication and documentation. Facilitates the empowerment of the nursing profession and excels in implementing new knowledge, innovations and improvements in practice to enhance the patient experience and clinical outcomes. Applies theoretical concepts to clinical practice and continually expands knowledge base and clinical skills with a focus in critical care and sedation. Utilizes interpersonal skills to maximize excellence in customer service, safe patient care and professionalism. Contributes to a work environment of caring and cooperation among a culturally diverse workforce and patient population. May be required to participate in on-call rotation based on department business needs. Performs other duties as needed. Education and Experience: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) required. If hired into position prior to July 1, 2020, an Associate Degree or Diploma Degree in Nursing required. Minimum three years of clinical experience in adult intensive care or emergency nursing required. Knowledge and Skills: Physical and emotional stamina to care for a variety of patients throughout the organization in one shift and perform patient lifts and transports with good body mechanics for all sizes of patients. Able to work in confined spaces and skillfully adapt to a variety of clinical settings. Demonstrates proficient competencies in emergency, critical care, intermediate and acute care clinical nursing. Ability to apply theoretical concepts to clinical practice and continually expands knowledge base and clinical skills with a focus in critical care, sedation and patient transport. Basic knowledge of healthcare regulations and accreditation required. Exhibits professional behavior at all times. Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association required. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification issued by the American Heart Association required within 90 days of hire. Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) preferred. Other certifications required as listed in the department-specific Plan for Providing Care. This role offers: A great work/life balance No weekends or evenings | Monday thru Friday Paid holidays and paid time off Rapidity growing team with opportunities for advancement Competitive compensation Benefits package Duties you will be responsible for: Assist in the creation of MA schedules Assist in ensuring all physicians are kept on schedule and the flow is running smoothly at all times Assist in coordinating patients that are late or walk-ins with available providers Support in orienting new team members so they can grasp the office dynamics and understand their roles effectively. Greet the patient introduce yourself, escort patient to assigned exam room Triage patient, take vitals, chief complaint, past and present history in to Electronic Medical Records system Enter all current medications and prescription enter data to EMR system Know how to perform all Meaningful Use requirements that pertain to the MA Department Check for open orders or missing test results Assist physician with in-office procedure(s) Disinfect instruments using proper disinfecting techniques Ensure all work areas and exam rooms are neat and clean Replenish exam room with medical supplies.
