Maintains exam rooms for necessary supplies and materials; ensures cleanliness. Prepares list of medical supplies needed. Administers prescribed medication and treatments in accordance with nursing standards. Educates patient/family about diagnostic procedures, medications, nutrition and maintenance of health and wellness. Efficiently utilizes the clinics patient data management system (electronic or manual) to maintain accurate patient records and utilizes NHS interface in a proficient manner. Screens patients for appropriate information to enter into the record, assuring chart is accurate and complete prior to date of appointment. Updates patient record information changes, using department charting guidelines. Completes paperwork accurately, completely and in a timely manner. Safely administers any medications using the 5 rights: prepares, gives, and documents medications and IV solutions. Maintains current medication profiles and documents medication profiles and documents medication instruction to patient/caregiver. Demonstrates population appropriate care and skill sets for all patient populations. Performs prescribed/ordered treatments timely and without errors. Complies with professional standards of practice and expected standards of care: Knows and adheres to the Arkansas Nurse Practice Act. Communicates pertinent data concerning the clients status and changes in plan of care with members of the health team to ensure continuity of care. Under minimum direction is responsible for: assessment, documentation, and disposition of all designated incoming ICD and Emergency telephone calls. Accurately collects improvement performance data as directed. Actively participates in the development and implementation of process improvements. Provides professional nursing care for clinic patients following established standards and practices. Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
