Charge Nurse 0.9 FTE, Nights, 1800 start, Monday through Wednesday As an integral member of the health care team, the Charge RN functions within the scope of practice as defined by the State and the ANA Scope and Standards for Pediatric Nursing Practice. Responsible for the planning, organization and delivery of safe and timely patient and family care for all patients on the unit during each shift or for providing safe direct patient care. This role receives two types of compensation depending on the work being performed. When conducting visits, you will be paid per visit point rate compensation. Your per visit pay will be calculated by multiplying your per visit point rate by the productivity points you accrue for various types of visits. Each type of visit is assigned a certain number of productivity points that is inclusive of 'direct' and 'indirect' patient care activities. Visits are assigned based on patient and business needs. The number of visits performed each week will vary based on individual productivity targets and the productivity points assigned to the visits performed. Registered Nurse - PICU (0.9FTE, Nights) Up to $15,000 sign-on bonus and relocation assistance available for experienced pediatric ICU RNs that meet eligibility requirements. If you have experience working with adult populations, we will provide training on working with pediatric patients and their families while leveraging the adult RN experience you already have. We will personalize an orientation just for you to set you up for success in the pediatric specialty you are hired for. The PICU has 40 beds with 8 additional expansion beds specifically dedicated to pediatric critical care for tracheotomy, CRRT, vents, organ transplant, and bone marrow transplant with research and ECMO services. There is a strong team of clinical educators and preceptors to ensure your successful training and support whether you are experienced or new to pediatrics. Typical training period can range from 10 weeks or more to effectively give your resources to attain competency and expertise in our PICU. Job Description UW Medical Center-Montlake has an outstanding opportunity for a full-time night shift ICU/ED Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) . The CNE will be our Subject Matter Expert who will provide clinical education, quality improvement support, and clinical expertise to the Intensive Care Units (ICUs) and Emergency Department with the Nurse Staff Development team. WORK SCHEDULE Full time / 100% FTE Night shifts Monday-Friday POSITION HIGHLIGHTS This position supports nursing orientation, ongoing professional development, competency management, and evidence-based practice for night shift nursing staff. The role partners with clinical leaders to advance quality, patient safety, and clinical outcomes while supporting nursing excellence across the continuum of care. Primary Job Responsibilities Advise, coordinate, and support orientation programs for ICU and ED nightshift nursing staff, including traveling nurses, experienced nurses, new graduate nurses, and nurses participating in the ICU Consortium or equivalent programs. Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate evidence-based educational programs, simulation activities, skills labs, competency validation, and annual education designed to improve clinical practice, patient safety, and professional development for night shift staff. Partner with nursing leadership, CNSs, physicians, Advanced Practice Providers, and interdisciplinary teams to identify educational priorities and align learning strategies with organizational goals. Participate in quality improvement initiatives through protocol development, implementation, staff education, outcome monitoring, data collection, and dissemination of best practices. Support unit-based quality, safety, and professional practice initiatives, including participation in shared governance councils and other departmental committees. Serve as a clinical resource and consultant by modeling advanced nursing practice and providing guidance in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for critically ill patients. Promote the integration of evidence-based practice, regulatory requirements, and organizational standards and initiatives that impact oncology patient outcomes Minimum Requirements Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's degree in Nursing or a related field preferred. Four to five years of recent intensive care nursing experience. Equivalent education and/or experience may be considered. Desired Qualifications Two or more years of leadership, educator, charge nurse, or project leadership experience. Demonstrated experience in staff education, competency management, quality improvement, or evidence-based practice initiatives. Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills.
