All affiliated Home care aides employed by Nurse Next Door to provide in-home care services will be 18 years old (or if under 18 years of age be a high school graduate or enrolled in a vocational education program) and have sufficient communication and language skills to enable them to perform their duties and interact effectively with clients and other agency staff. Home care aides must meet all registration, criminal background checks and training requirements as specified by the State of California Department of Social Services Home Care Services Bureau and Nurse Next Door policies. Job Description The Pediatric Infectious Diseases Nurse supports care coordination and clinic visits for pediatric patients with a variety of bacterial, viral, fungal and parasitic infections. This includes challenging conditions like MRSA, osteomyelitis, fevers, bone marrow transplants and organ transplants, HIV, and tuberculosis. S/he works autonomously, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate patient care. S/he uses a high level of clinical knowledge to fulfill patient needs, ensures efficient patient care, and provides patient education when necessary. The Clinic Nurse acts a patient advocate and as a liaison between insurers, inpatient/outpatient services, patients/families and all other necessary healthcare services to manage and facilitate efficient and timely coordination of care. The Pediatric Infectious Diseases Clinic Nurse is responsible for coordinating outpatient services and needs a panel of pediatric patients and providers in the ambulatory setting.
