Responsibilities include ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests within scope of practice, prescribing medications, coordinating consultations and referrals, providing surgical first-assist support, implementing therapeutic interventions, and providing patient and family education. The APP works collaboratively with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to plan, organize, and direct patient care. The APP also contributes to family support services, discharge planning, staff education, clinical consultation, quality improvement efforts, and research activities to advance patient outcomes and program excellence.
