Job Summary: The Licensed Vocational Nurse II is responsible for the total nursing care of assigned patients in accordance with provider's orders under the guidance and supervision of the nurse in charge. Essential Job Functions & Accountabilities: Delivers quality nursing care to assigned groups of patients while minimizing the risk of infection, contamination, harm, or injury. Records patients' medical information and vital signs. Monitors, records and reports symptoms and changes in patients' conditions. Conducts specified laboratory tests. Maintains accurate, detailed reports and records. Completes documentation to meet regulatory standards, policies, and procedures. Provides patient education directed towards identified knowledge deficits. Guides, educates, and provides leadership as a preceptor to LVNs and non-licensed clinical staff, as directed. Participates in performance improvement process initiatives within JPS Health Network and assigned department. Department Highlights Justin 5 is a 35‑bed Surgical Trauma Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and Burn Unit. On August 10, the unit will open with 18 surgical trauma PCU beds and 9 burn beds, with plans to expand to the full 35 beds later in the year. This unit provides higher‑acuity surgical trauma and burn care, including treatment in a dedicated hydrotherapy procedure room for the burn population. Although patient populations differ, this is one integrated unit, and staff are expected to work across both care areas.
