Insure sterile technique, instrument cleaning and sterilization, proper use of the autoclave. Schedule and coordinate necessary records for ancillary care for patients. Assist providers with exams and testing (pelvic exams, eye irrigations and ear irrigations, I & D’s and splinting/ ortho-glass preparation Perform occupational medicine testing such as: urine drug screens, breath alcohol testing, audiogram, and DOT physicals Maintain confidentiality with all patient information (HIPAA). Ensures equipment is in working order. Reports equipment malfunctions to manager. Logs laboratory procedures completed. Processes related paperwork using computer equipment as directed. Responsibilities: 1. Actively interfaces with patients and families of Akron Children's Hospitals 2. Prepares patients for examination; takes and records vital signs; performs phlebotomy as needed; administers medications as directed by the Providers according to policy and procedure 3. Performs clinical duties that are department specific such as POCT, hearing and vision screenings, and any other procedures 8. Develops and maintains positive relationships with patients/students, families, school personnel and colleagues 11. Completes all assignments during scheduled working hours 12. Follows safety policies and procedures in the delivery of care to assure a safe environment for patients, families, and other staff members 13.
