Department Overview The Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in Coon Rapids is a 16-bed, 12-room unit and is part of the Mother Baby Center at Mercy with Children's Minnesota. The NICU team cares for babies who are 28 weeks and older and require a higher level of care than the newborn nursery provides, as well as full-term babies who may be sick, have an anomaly, needing respiratory support. We care for these babies and their families and provide education to help them learn how to care for their baby at home. Our team of nurses, social workers, occupational therapists, physical therapists, neonatologists and nurse practitioners work together to provide a supportive and nurturing environment for the patients, families and staff. Position Summary Coordinates and provides family-centered nursing care to infants, children and adolescents, utilizing the nursing process. Accountable for professional practice including independent nursing functions and delegated medical functions performed in collaboration with other health team members. THIS IS AN MNA CONTRACT POSITION. Education Requirements: * Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. * Current Minnesota RN licensure. * Current BLS certification. * Current (minimum of 1 year within the last 2 years) NICU experience which includes ability to care for infants: requiring assisted ventilation, surgical cases per and post op, and pre-term infants where strong knowledge of developmental care is expected. Delivery room and/or CHG nurse experience preferred. Float Team or PICU RNs who are able to demonstrate Neonatal Competencies with these same patient types will be evaluated and considered to meet Level 3 qualifications. Description St. Croix Health is currently seeking a full-time (0.75 FTE) Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department team. This position will work day shifts (7 am – 7:30 pm) and mid shifts (11am – 11:30 pm), every third weekend and every 3rd holiday. Description St. Croix Health is seeking a part-time (0.60 FTE) Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our Med/Surg team. This position works day shifts (7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.), with every third weekend and holiday rotation. The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) partners with the registered nurse and performs work as delegated to support in the delivery of high-quality, compassionate care. The CNA assists patients with daily activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, eating, and mobility. Working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the CNA supports clinical care by monitoring vital signs, assisting with basic medical procedures, and accurately reporting changes in patient condition or behavior. The CNA plays a key role in promoting patient comfort, safety, and overall well-being within the scope of their practice. 1. Patient Care and Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) Assist patients with ADLs (e.g., bathing, grooming, dressing, feeding, mobility) to promote comfort and dignity. Reposition or transfer patients safely to enhance mobility and prevent skin breakdown. Respond promptly to call lights and requests, assessing and addressing patient needs. Provide direct assistance with eating and drinking, ensuring patient dietary restrictions and preferences are followed. Safely assist in lifting, transferring, or repositioning patient using appropriate techniques and equipment to prevent injury. 2. Clinical Support and Communication Monitor and document vital signs using approved equipment, reporting deviations to the RN immediately. Observe and report any changes in patient behavior, skin integrity, or symptoms to the RN to support timely clinical decision-making. Assist the nurse with non-invasive procedures and equipment operation, maintaining proper scope of practice. Apply clean dressing, sling, stockings or support bandages under RN direction to support treatment plans. Environmental Safety and Unit Support Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing routine cleaning of patient rooms and common areas. Change soiled linens, empty commodes or bedpans, and restock personal care supplies in patient rooms at least once per shift. Complete unit cleanliness and supply checklist daily; submit work order for maintenance issues. Stock and organize medical supplies to ensure availability and promote efficiency. Requirements Education & Licensure: Wisconsin Certified Nursing Assistant Certification Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Card from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross Experience: Prior clinic experience preferred Previous experience with Epic or Excellian software desired Competencies: Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Strong time management and prioritization skills Flexible and willing to fill different roles as needed Excellent communication and listening skills Demonstrated ability to work independently with little direction and manage multiple demands and priorities Positively contributes to a team environment, assisting the organization in achieving goals and objectives Strong customer service skills Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer Prolonged periods of standing, bending, and reaching Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times St. Croix Health is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
