The NP resident will work in the Emergency Department, at the York Street , Chapel Street and Shoreline Medical Center Campuses. Qualifications Graduation from an accredited Family Nurse Practitioner program by May 2025 for the 2025 residency class. APRNs must have certification as Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. And, must have a current APRN license at start of program. Or graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program by May 2025 for the 2025 residency class. PAs must have taken and passed thier PANCE by the start of the program. Both new graduates and experienced providers are encouraged to apply. Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills are required. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide quality care appropriate to the Emergency Department. Emergency Medicine requires procedural as well as assessment skills. The range and scope of emergency medicine is quite broad and requires expertise in many areas of medicine. Additional criteria may be specified by the residency program. Additional Information Applicants must be available for in-person interviews in January or February of 2025. Job Summary Urgent care Advanced Practitioners (Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner) provide a wide variety of clinical services including treatment of acute episodic conditions such as sore throats, colds, flu-like symptoms, cuts, sprains and minor infections. Functioning in lieu of or alongside of a physician, it is essential for an urgent care Advanced Practitioner to have excellent assessment skills in order to recognize more serious conditions and direct the patient to the emergency room for advanced care when necessary. Job Requirements Education Bachelor's Degree required for Physician Assistants Master's Degree required for Nurse Practitioners Work Experience One (1) year of full-time experience in Emergency Medicine or One (1) year of Urgent Care setting experience required . Will consider 2 years of Family Medicine experience. Required Licenses/Certifications National Certification Active state medical licensure Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Work experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Room setting preferred Applicable office procedures including but not limited to suturing, splinting, casting etc. Preliminary reads on EKGs and X-rays required . Experience treating patients ages 6 months and up in an acute care setting required .
