As a member of this team, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care, from initial introduction to final send-off. You will interact directly with patients, families and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply healthcare education as needed. Additionally, the Cleveland Clinic system provides nurses with many professional development resources, including furthering education and online/in-person courses to enhance your skills. A caregiver in this position will work nights and on-call. Shift times are 7:00pm to 7:30am. Orientation is 6 months long, Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 3:30pm. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Provide nursing care in an operative setting to patients undergoing surgical or invasive procedures. Perform scrub and circulating functions. Prepare the OR, surgical instruments and equipment for use. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross One year of RN experience OR completion of Cleveland Clinic’s Perioperative Residency Program Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within six months of hire Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) Physical Requirements: Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 25 pounds and ability to push, pull, and navigate supply carts weighing > than 75 pounds periodically .
