Participates in informal/formal resident care meetings as requested by charge nurse and/or Supervisor. 4. Performs duties as instructed by written assignment which includes resident care to be provided i.e., activities of daily living – grooming and hygiene, transferring, ambulation, and proper body alignment, transporting to activities and scheduled appointments. 5. Assists with serving meals, feeding residents and meal documentation. 6. Maintains orderly resident rooms and assures that the call cords are safely accessible for residents. 7. Makes rounds on assigned residents at the beginning and throughout the shift. 8. Cares for clean and soiled linen. 9. Follows all health, sanitary and infection control policies and maintains established standards of practice set forth by the facility's administration and Nursing policies and procedures. 10. Assists in the orientation of training of new certified nursing assistants within the facility as necessary. 11. Attends CNA meetings held by DNS/ADNS. 12. Operates and maintains equipment in a safe manner. Reports any malfunctions or equipment failures in a timely manner. 13. Assists in the delivery of primary health care and patient care management by performing selected clinical and administrative duties. The “float” Medical Assistant will travel between Alliance Medical locations as needed and work with different providers. Duties And Responsibilities Assists provider in preparing for physicals and minor surgeries. Prepares patients for examination and treatment. Takes patient histories and vital signs, performs phlebotomy and EKG as needed. Prepares exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments. Assists with ordering and maintaining supplies and equipment, including sterilization of instruments. Assists with scheduling of tests and treatments and follows through with referrals when indicated. Screens telephone calls for referral to nurse or provider. Maintains patient files, records and other information according to office standards. Implements provider orders under provider direction and notifies patients of results as requested.
