The Activity Aide plays an important role in our Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, contributing to the well-being of residents through engaging and therapeutic activities. Responsibilities include planning and coordinating a variety of recreational activities for a diverse group of seniors, fostering a supportive environment. The ideal candidate should be engaging, personable, and possess excellent communication skills, along with creativity and empathy to ensure a resident’s physical and mental stimulation. This role requires collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to enhance the overall quality of life for our residents. Previous experience in a similar role and a background in recreational therapy or a related field is preferred but not required. Essential Functions: Assist in evaluating resident’s recreational needs and developing activity programs upon resident initial admission relating to past and current interests. Promotes a physically and sensory stimulating environment to increase the functioning levels of residents. Prepares and participates in individual and group activities as scheduled daily. Assist with decorating the facility and preparing for special events and seasonal parties. Participates in recreational programs for residents confined to their rooms and participation records for 1:1 visits are mandatory. Perform other tasks as assigned.
