Maintain accurate records of students’ attendance, grades, and progress. Ensure that all training equipment and supplies are properly maintained and available for use. Stay updated on the latest developments in nursing education and healthcare practices. Assist in the development and revision of the CNA program curriculum as needed. Comply with all state and federal regulations and guidelines related to CNA training and certification. Qualifications: Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license. Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a CNA or in a related nursing role. Train the Trainer Course Completion Prior teaching or training experience is preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to engage and motivate students. Proficiency in using technology and educational software for teaching purposes. Job description SUMMARY: The Temporary Nurse RN/LPN $45 Hourly (90 Day Tenure) is responsible for providing direct nursing care to the residents, and to supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants. Such supervision must be in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility, and as may be required by the Director of Nursing to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Temporary Nurse RN/LPN $45 Hourly (90 Day Tenure) Direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing assistants. Meet with your assigned nursing staff, as well as support personnel, in planning the shift’s services, programs and activities. Make written & oral reports/recommendations concerning the activities of the shift as required. Admit, transfer and discharge residents as required. Provide leadership to nursing personnel assigned to your unit/shift. Complete & file required recordkeeping forms/charts upon the resident’s admission, transfer and/or discharge. Receive & transcribe telephone orders from physicians & record on the Physician’s Order Form. Chart nurse’s notes in an informative & descriptive manner that reflects the care provided to the resident, as well as the resident’s response to the care. Fill out and complete accident/incident reports & submit to Director as required. Perform routine charting duties as required & in accordance with established charting & documentation policies & procedures. Prepare & administer medications as ordered by the physician. Develop & maintain a good working rapport with inter-departmental personnel, as well as other departments within the facility to ensure that nursing services and activities can be adequately maintained to meet the needs of the residents. Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the unit and shift. Receive/give the nursing report upon reporting in and ending shift duty hours. Make rounds with physicians as necessary. Administer professional services such as: catheterization, tube feedings, suction, applying and changing dressings/bandages, packs, colostomy, and drainage bags, taking blood, giving massages and range of motion exercises, etc., as required. Monitor your assigned personnel to ensure that they are following established safety regulations in the use of equipment and supplies. Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information including protected health information. Report known or suspected incidents of unauthorized disclosure of such information. Ensure that all nursing care is provided in privacy and that nursing service personnel knock before entering the resident’s room. Provide IV & IV site care as needed. JOB SUMMARY: The purpose of this position is to assist the nurses in the providing of resident care primarily in the area of the daily living routine. QUALIFICATIONS: Must hold a current Certified Nurse's Assistant certificate in the State of Illinois. A high school diploma is preferred. Answer call lights promptly. Help check in all new residents and re-admissions, as well as assist in the transfer of residents to different rooms. Put resident's clothing away properly. Report any changes in resident's condition--e.g. eating habits, behavior, temperature, etc. to the charge nurse of the unit. Turn bedridden residents every two (2) hours or sooner as indicated. Wash, clean, and dry all incontinent residents. Assist the treatment nurse as assigned. Complete assignment report to charge nurse at the end of every shift. Be responsible for well-being and nursing care of all residents assigned to his/her unit while on duty. Take vital signs and monthly weights (with assistance) and record results in EMR. Document the following in the EMR for all assigned residents: a) vital signs b) weight c) meal monitoring d) bowl and bladder e) restorative records Detect and report situations that have a high probability of causing accidents or injuries to residents and/or staff. Assure that work/assignment areas are clean and free of hazardous conditions, i.e. spills, excess carts, etc. and that equipment, tools, supplies, etc. are properly stored while working, as well as before leaving such areas for breaks, meal times, and end of the work day. Assure that established infection control and universal precaution practices are maintained when performing nursing procedures. Follow established safety precautions when performing tasks and when using equipment and supplies. Assure that equipment is cleaned and prepared for the next shift. Assure that work schedules are followed. Maintain the confidentiality of resident information and honor his/her personal and property rights. Attend nursing department, Care Plan, and other meetings as directed by the DON or ADON. Attend and participate in in-service educational classes and on-the-job training programs as scheduled or as directed. Turn in Days Off and payroll special request forms in a timely manner. Follow established fire, disaster, safety, infection control, and evacuation policies and procedures. Perform other related duties as directed by the DON, ADON, charge nurse, or the Administrator. JOB SUMMARY: The purpose of this position is to assist the nurses in the providing of resident care primarily in the area of the daily living routine. QUALIFICATIONS: Must hold a current Certified Nurse's Assistant certificate in the State of Illinois. A high school diploma is preferred. Must have the ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel. Must be able to read, write, and speak English in an understandable manner. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Must be physically and mentally capable of performing routine, repetitive job duties. Show willingness to provide good nursing care. Be considerate, pleasant, and professional in the performance of his/her duties. Must have compassion, tolerance, and understanding for the residents of the facility. Knowledge of JCAHO, OBRA, IDPH, and HFS regulations as related to duties. MAIN DUTIES: Support the facility's philosophy of care and strive to achieve its goals and objectives. Be sensitive to residents' families and respond in an appropriate professional way as the situation requires. Carry out assignments for resident care including (but not limited to): a) bathing b) dressing c) grooming d) shaving e) feeding f) restorative nursing procedures g) retraining Keep residents' bed, dresser, bathroom, and general living area clean and tidy. Answer call lights promptly. Help check in all new residents and re-admissions, as well as assist in the transfer of residents to different rooms. Put resident's clothing away properly. Report any changes in resident's condition--e.g. eating habits, behavior, temperature, etc. to the charge nurse of the unit. Turn bedridden residents every two (2) hours or sooner as indicated. Wash, clean, and dry all incontinent residents. Assist the treatment nurse as assigned. Complete assignment report to charge nurse at the end of every shift. Be responsible for well-being and nursing care of all residents assigned to his/her unit while on duty. Take vital signs and monthly weights (with assistance) and record results in EMR. Document the following in the EMR for all assigned residents: a) vital signs b) weight c) meal monitoring d) bowl and bladder e) restorative records Detect and report situations that have a high probability of causing accidents or injuries to residents and/or staff. Assure that work/assignment areas are clean and free of hazardous conditions, i.e. spills, excess carts, etc. and that equipment, tools, supplies, etc. are properly stored while working, as well as before leaving such areas for breaks, meal times, and end of the work day. Assure that established infection control and universal precaution practices are maintained when performing nursing procedures. Follow established safety precautions when performing tasks and when using equipment and supplies. Assure that equipment is cleaned and prepared for the next shift. Assure that work schedules are followed. Maintain the confidentiality of resident information and honor his/her personal and property rights. Attend nursing department, Care Plan, and other meetings as directed by the DON or ADON. Attend and participate in in-service educational classes and on-the-job training programs as scheduled or as directed. Turn in Days Off and payroll special request forms in a timely manner. Follow established fire, disaster, safety, infection control, and evacuation policies and procedures. Perform other related duties as directed by the DON, ADON, charge nurse, or the Administrator.
