Summary Under the direction of the Director and/or Nurse Manager, the Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) is responsible for providing direct and indirect patient care duties for a group of patients, from simple to complex, for the specialty population on the unit or department, under the guidance and supervision of the registered nurse. Education High school or equivalent (GED) preferred. Required: Proof of LNA Education Certificate and Final Report of Written and Clinical Competency Testing Results (as required by the NH Board of Nursing). Certification, Registration & Licensure Certification required: Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification, or equivalent course credentialed by American Heart Association. Licensure required: Current New Hampshire State LNA license Experience Evidence of the ability to perform as a member of a team. Responsibilities Performs activities of daily living and personal care needs under the guidance and supervision of the Registered Nurse. Performs technical skills/procedures relating to physical, mental health and social needs of patients under the guidance and supervision of the RN. Documents care provided and reports to the RN observations of patient’s physical, social and mental status and basic patient data collected. Demonstrates adherence to safe patient handling policy. Demonstrates time management skills. Maintains the patient care areas to ensure cleanliness, safety and supplies of material and equipment. Receives delegated work adhering to the five rights of delegation. Performs job specific requirements and other duties as assigned. Serves as a preceptor for new employees. Performs scrub duties according to surgical protocol. 5. Demonstrates ability to properly utilize all equipment for specific procedures or seeks appropriate resource. 6. Assumes responsibility for knowledge of surgical procedures and associated nursing care. Seeks appropriate resource when necessary. 7. Provides communication/visits peri-operatively to the patient’s family and or significant other. 8. Demonstrates self-direction above and beyond daily assignments and actively offers assistance to colleagues both within the main OR’s, cardiac OR’s and various other surgical services units. 9. Demonstrates ability to accurately and thoroughly complete peri-operative nursing record documentation, i.e. surgical site confirmation, patient identification verification. 10. Demonstrates collegially behavior of respect and consideration with regard to work environment, i.e. restocking rooms, returning equipment/supplies for other surgical procedures, cleaning work areas/station and or communicate as appropriate. Job Summary: Essential Duties and Responsibilities Maintains competencies on Mother/Baby, GYN, Pedi and basic Med-Surg. Maintains competencies in either L&D or ‘sick baby’ management (L&D track and/or Nursery track). Once training and competencies are completed in the RN’s designated ‘track’, and the Clinical Director and Clinical Resource Nurse deem appropriate, the RN may train to the other track if desired—both sets of competencies must be maintained. Summary Under the direction of the Administrative Director, Cardiovascular Services, the Medical Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Lab and the Cath Lab Nurse Manager, the Cath Lab RN will perform duties necessary to care for patients, ages 18 years and up, undergoing cardiac catheterization procedures at a technical and professional nursing level. The RN will provide pre, intra and post procedural care. Performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment. Operates diagnostic imaging equipment and aids the Physician to produce contrast enhanced radiographs of heart and cardiovascular system (angiograms) during cardiac catheterization and electro physiology procedures and assists with the implanting of pacemaker and internal defibrillator devices. Education Graduate from a state accredited school of Nursing. Bachelor's in Nursing preferred. Certification, Registration & Licensure New Hampshire RN licensure and American Heart Association Health Care Provider BLS required. Experience One year cardiovascular experience preferred.
