Count or ensure the counting of controlled drugs with outgoing and incoming shifts. Coordinates/Prepares MDS schedules for quarterly, annual and significant change assessments. Complete MDS Booklet as per schedule (Nursing Sections). Reviews and signs off on all completed MDS and RAP Summary. Develops care plan that demonstrate knowledge of criteria to ascertain resident specific needs based on health care problem(s). Makes needed revisions and updates to the care plans. Ensures that care plan is carried out which demonstrates familiarity with criteria to establish priorities specific to anticipated outcomes. Monitors the provision of care for the residents in his/her assigned unit. Interprets philosophy and objectives of nursing service to residents, families and others. Identifies resident/family learning needs based on the discharge care plan as applicable and carries out appropriate teaching required. Demonstrates ability to coordinate and collaborate with resident/family and other members of the comprehensive health care team. Monitors the administration and accurate recording of medications used. Investigates and follow through on medication errors. Notifies physicians of pertinent observations and reactions, incident and abnormal laboratory and x-ray results as required and documents same promptly. Transcribes physician orders timely and ensure orders are implemented as appropriate. Reports all resident, visitor and work-related accidents/injuries and demonstrates appropriate follow through by investigating, documenting and processing incident reports. Accepts guidance, supervision, and criticism if needed. Practices in compliance with the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory agencies regulations. Assures that a stock level of medications, medical supplies, equipment, etc. are maintained at adequate levels at all times. Assume the authority, responsibility and accountability of directing your nursing shifts. Other responsibilities as deemed necessary and appropriate or as may be directed by the Director of Nursing Services or Administrator. About Our Kids Center: The Our Kids Center specializes in providing forensic medical evaluations for children when there are concerns of child sexual abuse. Serving approximately 750 children in Middle Tennessee each year, Our Kids is a recognized leader in forensic medical evaluations and research in this field. The successful candidate will be a PRN employee at Nashville General Hospital and assigned to the Our Kids Center. Additional daytime hours will be required during the training period. · Collaborate with law enforcement, Department of Children’s Services, and other community partners during sexual abuse investigations. · Write detailed reports and provide court testimony when required. · Adapt interactions to meet the developmental, cultural, and special needs of each child and family. Organization: VICTR Job Summary: Registered Nurse 2 - Clinical Research Center Day Shift – VICTR This is a 40-hour/week RN position on our day shift for 2–12-hour shifts and 2- 8-hour shifts in our Adult Clinical Research Center. We have inpatients and outpatients on our unit and are here to provide expertise in nursing assessment and skills such as IV placement, EKG’s, procedural set up and assistance, and investigational medication administration ranging from simple to complex research tasks. We administer a high volume of investigational IV infusions such as monoclonal antibody therapies for rare diseases and insulin infusions for metabolic studies as well as subcutaneous and oral research medications. Excellent assessment skills and attention to detail are needed for patient observation following investigational medication administration and tasks such as frequent vital signs, EKG’s and lab draws to include centrifuging research blood samples. There is a weekend rotation approximately once every 6 weeks, however our clinic is closed on holidays. We are looking for candidates that have 1-2 years of medical surgical experience and research experience is a plus. ACLS and BLS certification are required, and biotherapy infusion training will be provided as well as specialized research training. . KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Collaborates in establishing the plan of care, coordinates and implements care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum. Analyzes comprehensive information pertinent to the patient's care and management to determine nursing diagnosis. Continually utilizes the nursing process to evaluate patient's progress towards goals and applies appropriate interventions to ensure effective outcomes.
