During the assigned work period, PCAs will collect patient data, complete personal care of the patient, perform point of care testing such as whole blood glucose, turn & position and/or mobilize patients, and assist with caring for the needs of assigned patients with a focus on progress toward discharge, including during transitions within the acute care stay. Minimum Qualifications: • Graduate of a professional academic nursing program in which a Diploma, Associate Degree or Baccalaureate Degree is conferred. • Must hold current NYS Registered Nurse license. • Obtains and maintains certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). • Previous experience as a PCA or other nursing assistance preferred. • Ability to improve job performance through continuing education. • Possesses knowledge of quality concepts, principles, and problem-solving tools and techniques and demonstrates ability to apply in support of departmental and patient care quality improvement. Sign-On Bonus Payout Schedule The sign-on bonus will be paid in three installments as follows: 50% – Paid with the first paycheck. 25% – Paid upon satisfactory completion of ninety (90) days of employment. 25% – Paid upon satisfactory completion of one (1) year of employment. Eligibility for each installment is contingent upon the employee meeting all performance and conduct expectations at the time of payment. The employee understands that the signing bonus is forfeited if the employee fails to report to work on the first day and the initial two payments must be paid back if the employee does not satisfactorily complete 6 months of employment.
