The Apheresis unit provides care for pediatric and adult outpatients, as well as inpatients. They are responsible for different types of access including tunneled and non-tunneled central lines, Apheresis ports, as well as peripheral IVs. The RN is accountable for monitoring patients during treatments and having critical thinking for adverse reactions. The department works collaboratively with doctors, fellows, residents and blood bank staff to ensure a positive patient experience. MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S): Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact.
