A Brief Overview There are two units within cardiac intermediate care. These units p rovide intermediate level care to patients with congenital and acquired heart disease as well as those with primary rhythm abnormalities. Patients include medical and surgical cardiac patients with an age range typically spanning newborns to young adults. Units may also care for patients under local subspecialty care or general pediatrics. Nurses will interview and be hired to one of these two units depending on position availability at time of application.
