$5,000.00 Bonus Available * JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Obtains and records initial assessment and establishes priorities according to patient age, symptoms, and psychosocial needs. Reassesses patients systematically to identify progress and trends that require intervention. Implements and documents timely interventions appropriate to patient needs and recognizes and responds to emergencies. Makes comprehensive nursing decisions based on the interpretation of facts and evaluations of patient outcome. Participates in patient/significant other health education and discharge planning. Coordinates team assignments and makes adjustments based upon patient and unit needs; follows up on delegated patient care tasks for quality and completeness. Utilizes appropriate chain of command for resolution of difficult issues. Participates in orientation of new staff. Maintains a neat, organized, and safe environment for patients and staff. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Critical Care Unit: ACLS or ALS certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire. Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course or PALS must be completed within one year of hire. Maternity Center: ACLS or ALS Certification required. NPR certification is required within 3 months of hire. Job Description: Qualified Medication Aides are valuable members of our health care team who work under the supervision of a licensed nurse to perform skilled nursing care tasks as assigned according to plan of care. Annual Wage Scale: $38,480-$62,400 About us: Especially Kidz is a skilled pediatric nursing facility located in Shelbyville, Indiana. Especially Kidz is seeking compassionate Qualified Medication Aides to become a part of our team where our primary goal is to provide exceptional care to our residents. About the Role: Especially Kidz is seeking Qualified Medication Aides to- Prepare and administer safely and document regularly prescribed oral medications to residents. Administer as allowed, oral PRN drugs when authorized by a licensed nurse. Understand that injectable medications must always be given by a licensed nurse. Demonstrate knowledge that the telephone or verbal orders may never be accepted by a QMA. Understand and demonstrate knowledge that appropriate vital signs will be taken and recorded as required before administering certain medications. About you: The ideal candidate would have the following skills and experience: Must be certified as Qualified Medication Aide in the State of Indiana. Must complete a State approved training program in medication administration. Must possess a current health certificate/examination as required by State agencies. Must perform only those duties that were taught in the approved training program.
