The Oncology Registered Nurse is focused on patient assessment, patient education, the coordination of care, administration of therapy, symptom management and supportive care for the Oncology and Hematology patients at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. The Registered Nurse cares for individuals receiving therapy for oncologic and hematologic problems. Position Summary The Inpatient Gastroenterology Consult Nurse Practitioner (NP) is an integral member of a busy inpatient gastroenterology consult service caring for children with a wide range of gastrointestinal, nutritional, feeding, and enteral access needs. Working closely with GI faculty, fellows, residents, medical students, nurses, dietitians, and other members of the multidisciplinary team, the NP evaluates and manages hospitalized patients across Boston Children’s Hospital. The GI consult service provides exposure to a broad and complex spectrum of pediatric gastroenterology, offering an opportunity to develop clinical expertise alongside experienced colleagues and trainees. The NP participates in daily rounds, develops and implements evidence-based care plans, coordinates diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, and supports safe transitions of care. The Oncology Registered Nurse is focused on patient assessment, patient education, the coordination of care, administration of therapy, symptom management and supportive care for the Oncology and Hematology patients at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. The Registered Nurse cares for individuals receiving therapy for oncologic and hematologic problems. With an interdisciplinary team approach, this provider promotes a collaborative relationship between all providers, professional nurses and administrative staff, to ensure continuity of patient care and efficient use of resources. The APP is responsible for the assessment and management of medical oncology patients, including diagnostic and therapeutic interventions and development and implementation of appropriate plans of care across the trajectory of illness for patients with hematologic malignancies and/or solid tumor malignancies. In addition to providing direct and indirect patient care, the medical oncology APP serves as a role model for professional advanced practice and participates in the professional development of the team through teaching, committee involvement or quality and safety initiatives. Whittier Rehabilitation Hospital - Transitional Care Unit Registered Nurse needed for our 20 bed transitional care unit FT or PT available and every other weekend 7a-3p or combo 7a-3p / 3p-11p Base Pay : $40.00-$44.00 per hour plus applicable diffs Primary Responsibilities: Supervises and evaluates all direct resident care and initiates corrective action as necessary. Provides clinical supervision of nursing assistants providing direct resident care Assumes responsibility for compliance with federal, state and local regulations within the assigned unit. Ensures that all physician renewal orders and physician documentation is timely and appropriate. Conducts resident rounds, reporting problems to nursing supervisor and initiating corrective action. Identifies resident problems and emergency situations, and initiates immediate "life saving" measures within the scope of nursing practice and in accordance with advance directives. Administers and documents medications, enteral nutrition, and treatments per the physician's order and accurately records all care provided and observations daily. Prerequisites: Graduate of an accredited RN school of Nursing. Current license in Massachusetts as RN. Knowledge of Geriatric Nursing required. Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support in accordance with American Heart Association or American Red Cross standards required.
