Primary duties include providing support for cardiologists' offices and various logistic duties. Medical Assistant has contact with patients on a regular basis. Reports normal test results and confers with physician or nurse when needed and documents in EMR. Carries out orders, clarifies questionable orders with physician or nurse and properly documents in EMR. Cleans and prepares exam room for the next patient. Medication refills under the direction of the physician or APP with nursing supervision. Completes patient charges in an accurate and timely manner. Monitors equipment performance such as EKG machine and notifies manager of any malfunctions. Holter, MCOT, ECAT and Event monitor scheduling, monitoring of equipment, processing and billing. Inventories and orders supplies.
