Description Job Title - Nurse Practitioner - Klingenstein 3 NICU - Mount Sinai Hospital - Full Time - Night A nurse practitioner (NP) as described in Title VIII, Article 139 section 6910 of the New York Education Law is a RN who has earned a separate certification as an NP through advanced clinical nursing education in a distinct specialty area of practice. Nurse practitioners are independent practitioners who diagnose, treat, and prescribe for a patients condition that falls within their specialty area of practice. NOTE: Medical orders, progress notes and treatments plans are not required to be countersigned by a physician. Overview Conducts and reviews UAS-NY comprehensive assessments of potential and existing members. Establishes an individual Plan Of Care based on members clinical, environmental, and social needs to support member safety in the community. Visits include all areas serviced by VNS Health Plans including upstate and downstate counties. • Performs in-home assessment on members to determine the appropriate service plan, including completion of UAS assessment questionnaire, tasking tool, and a projected service plan. Description The Medical Assistant II provides clinical office support to physicians and surgeons and performs patient care and administrative duties necessary to deliver quality patient care. Mentors and assists less experienced staff members. Special Note For assignments in Post-Acute Care ONLY, individuals meeting the following criteria may also be considered for appointment: Graduation from a nursing education program registered by the New York State Education Department (NYSED) as licensure qualifying for Registered Professional Nurse (RN) and has applied for licensure as an RN. These unlicensed individuals may be employed to practice under the immediate and personal supervision of a NYS licensed, currently registered, RN for up to 90 days immediately following graduation pending receipt of a limited permit, which selected candidates must apply for and receive within the same 90-day period. Once a limited permit is received, individuals can practice nursing, under the immediate and personal supervision of a NYS licensed, currently registered, RN at a NYC Health + Hospitals health care setting for up to one (1) year from the date of issuance of the limited permit.
