Overview Registered Nurses in the Surgery Clinics provide illness management and health promotion for patients and families who require hospital care. Registered staff nurses utilize the nursing process and knowledge of scientific principles to provide safe, high quality, comprehensive, and age appropriate nursing care for their assigned patients. Registered staff nurses provide patient and family education and advocate for their needs. Registered nurses coordinate patient care with non-clinical personnel as necessary. Neurosurgery clinic staff nurse job responsibilities include clinic patient management in collaboration with the provider and care team, collection and acquisition of pertinent clinical records including labs/pathology, operative reports, and radiology reports/imaging phone triage. Neurosurgery clinic staff nurses will provide patient care coordination to ensure high quality care delivery. Clinic nursing staff will participate in performance improvement initiatives for the department and provide clinical nursing support as needed to any services reporting up through the Surgery Clinics. Neurosurgery Clinic staff are responsible for understanding the surgery scheduling process and assisting with scheduling. Registered nurses provide illness management and health promotion for patients and families who require care. Check all residents daily to assure that prescribed treatment is being properly administered by nursing personnel/assistants and to evaluate their physical and emotional status.
