POSITION OVERVIEW The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) supports the Director of Nursing (DON) by planning, organizing, developing, and overseeing the Nursing Service Department's daily functions. Job Summary The CMA Triage prepares and assists physician/provider in the examination and treatment of patients in the medical office. Ability to assist physician/provider with examinations, diagnostic processes, and treatments. Arranges diagnostic testing and hospital admission. Obtains insurance authorizations. Schedules outpatient and inpatient procedures. Performs patient assessment and triage. Prepares and administers patient medication. Job Responsibilities Prepare patients for physician/provider examination and administers injections and immunizations. Arrange for diagnostic testing, specialist appointments and hospital admission. May perform required phlebotomy, administer injections, immunizations and other special procedures, venipuncture, cleansing wounds/lesions sites. Measure and record at least three vital signs per patient visit. May Perform telephone triage asking details of illness, answering questions, ensuring information is available, and reviewing phone calls with the nurse practitioner or physician as appropriate.
