Reporting to the Program Director, the Hyperbaric Technician administers hyperbaric oxygen therapy to patients as prescribed by the Hyperbaric Provider. This position is responsible for the safe and effective operation of the hyperbaric chamber(s) and related support systems, as well as for the safe delivery of hyperbaric oxygen therapy to the hyperbaric patient. Essential Functions/Responsibilities: Prepares, educates and orients patients about the Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy. This includes lifting or transferring patients per local policy, getting them ready for treatment administration and answering their questions. Administers the hyperbaric oxygen therapy as prescribed by the Hyperbaric Provider to the patient. This includes monitoring and controlling the performance of the hyperbaric chamber equipment, as well as monitoring the patient(s)’responses during the session and making proper adjustments to ensure the patient’s safety and the safe and effective use of the equipment. Makes appropriate data entries for daily hyperbaric treatments and wound care clinic visits and keeps complete and accurate patient records as they pertain to treatment documentation, to include photo uploading. Operates and maintains the hyperbaric chamber and other hyperbaric support oxygen systems as required Assist in vein clinic as assigned after Healogics Vein Clinic training completed Participates in the safety program activities such as assisting with safety drills If CMA or LPN, may function as a Documentation Assistant (scribe) in accordance with Healogics policy Performs other duties as required. JOB SUMMARY: The purpose of this position is to assist the nurses in the providing of resident care primarily in the area of the daily living routine. QUALIFICATIONS: Must hold a current Certified Nurse's Assistant certificate in the State of Illinois. A high school diploma is preferred. Be responsible for well-being and nursing care of all residents assigned to his/her unit while on duty. Take vital signs and monthly weights (with assistance) and record results in EMR. Document the following in the EMR for all assigned residents: a) vital signs b) weight c) meal monitoring d) bowl and bladder e) restorative records Detect and report situations that have a high probability of causing accidents or injuries to residents and/or staff. Assure that work/assignment areas are clean and free of hazardous conditions, i.e. spills, excess carts, etc. and that equipment, tools, supplies, etc. are properly stored while working, as well as before leaving such areas for breaks, meal times, and end of the work day. Assure that established infection control and universal precaution practices are maintained when performing nursing procedures. Follow established safety precautions when performing tasks and when using equipment and supplies. Assure that equipment is cleaned and prepared for the next shift. Assure that work schedules are followed. Maintain the confidentiality of resident information and honor his/her personal and property rights. Attend nursing department, Care Plan, and other meetings as directed by the DON or ADON. Attend and participate in in-service educational classes and on-the-job training programs as scheduled or as directed. Turn in Days Off and payroll special request forms in a timely manner. Perform routine charting duties as required and in accordance with our established Charting and Documentation Policies and Procedures. Responsible for completion of admission, discharge, and transfer processes. Prepare and administer medications and treatments if appropriate as ordered by the physician. Review medication record for completeness of information, accuracy in the transcription of the physician’s order, and adherence to stop order policies. Administer professional services such as: catheterization, tube feedings, suction, applying and changing dressings/bandages, packs, colostomy, and drainage bags, care of the dead/dying, etc., as required. Participate in the orientation of new customers/family members to the facility. Arrange for diagnostic and therapeutic services, as ordered by the physician. Notify the customer’s attending physician and family when there is a change in the customer’s conditions. Obtain sputum, urine and other lab tests as ordered. Take and record TPR’s, blood pressures, accuchecks, etc., as necessary. Contact the customer’s physician for: Nursing assessment of change of condition. Medication orders or charges. To inform of incidents. To report abnormal results of Lab and X-ray. Anything else pertinent to the customers’ care and well-being. Be the Best Hospice Admissions RN You Can Be If you meet these qualifications, we would love to meet you: Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state(s) of practice, with an associate degree preferred and CPR certification recommended (required for direct patient care in Georgia). Must meet state-specific regulatory requirements. Previous nursing experience in hospice, home health, general medical-surgical, or population-specific care (e.g., pediatrics, geriatrics) is required, along with willingness to serve on-call. Must have a reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and the minimum required liability auto insurance. Strong communication and organizational skills, with working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and EMR systems. Must be able to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team. Physically able to lift patients over 200 pounds (with assistance), stand, walk, sit, stoop, and perform other physical movements frequently. Regular exposure to indoor environments, vibration, and moderate noise expected. Responsibilities: Assess patient and family for physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs and collaborates with patients and families, physician, and Interdisciplinary Group (IDG) to establish the plan of care, implement interventions and/or evaluate care Initiate and maintain communication with attending physician, Medical Director, IDG, Team Director (TD), and IDG and other agencies to coordinate optimal care and use of resources for the patient and family Especially, in the event of unusual or potentially problematic patient and family issues Document according to protocol and maintain up-to-date patient records.
