Provides essential supplies for each patient. Rounds hourly on patients & families focusing on pain, positioning, toileting (potty) and patient safety. Responds promptly to patient calls. Utilizes AIDET (acknowledge, introduction, duration, explanation, thank you) in all communications with patients and staff. Utilizes Onstage/Backstage techniques for communication with patient, family and hospital staff. Consistently strives to understand, anticipate and meet the needs, expectations and satisfaction levels of patients and other customers. Quality (Performance Improvement, Risk & Patient Safety) Is aware of and participates in the performance improvement activities of the department. Completes incident reports regarding complaints or other issues. Actively promotes a culture of safety by speaking up when safety concerns are. Participates in departments "Survey Ready" efforts. Professional Conduct, Growth and Development Completes Mandatory Requirements (Such as Annual Updates, Employee Health Screenings, license/certification updates and other requirements within. Follows the chain of command. Attends 80% of department meetings, in-service programs and training. Implements practices. Ensures that professional license/certification responsibilities are completed timely as appropriate. Qualifications Education/Training/Experience All Departments Require: One year acute care experience preferred, may consider experience in a sub-acute or skilled nursing environment. Effective communication skills in English. Bilingual in English/Spanish and/or English/Mandarin preferred. Licenses/Certifications All Departments Require: Current California CNA certificate Current BLS certificate Pediatric Sub-acute Requirements: Prior experience working with the pediatric population
