Your Everyday Perform and manage all cardiac stress tests, ensuring safe and appropriate patient care throughout the procedure. Assist physicians with cardiac procedures, including transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE), cardioversions, loop recorder implants, and tilt-table studies. Support sonographers with IV placement and other patient care needs within the Cardiology Department. Provide comprehensive patient care, monitoring, education, and procedural support to promote patient safety and quality outcomes. Take the lead: prioritizing, coordinating, and delegating all care touchpoints for your patients . Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to ensure appropriate direct patient care. Maintain and advocate a safe environment for everyone. Monitor and engage with your patients, families, and appropriate care team members concerning significant events , patient condition changes, or patient questions and concerns . Prevent and treat wounds . Monitor and execute Joint Commission infection control and environment of care requirements. Ensure continuity of care, efficient throughput, consistent communications, and an exceptional experience for every patient. Advise and consult with supervisor when unable to complete assignments or perform tasks promptly, effectively, or safely. Initiate patient and family education using appropriate resources and continuum of care services. Contribute to the team by assisting others without being asked. The Must-Haves Minimum: 1+ years of experience as an RN Current nursing license to practice in Louisiana and as defined by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing. Responsibilities Clinical Practice and Care Management Performs psychosocial/physiologic assessments that integrates changing data. Formulates a plan of care based on trends of similar patients, including patient education and discharge planning. Tailors and prioritizes caring practice to individual needs, including cultural/ ethical/ spiritual needs. Participates in the planning of routine transitional health care needs. (i.e. treatment options patient placement options, end of life options) Responds to changes in patient's needs and provides holistic care using independent clinical judgment based on knowledge drawn from education and experience. Adapts planned educational programs and information to individual patients and family by modifying teaching strategies or content. Integrates education during the delivery of patient care. Collaborates with patients/ families to identify realistic desired outcomes. Ensures efficiency in the delivery of care determines immediate priorities and offers solution for problems. Actively advocates for patient rights and identifies potential conflict. Seeks counsel for resolution of conflict. Identifies variances from expected outcomes. Evaluates patient outcomes and makes revisions in the plan of care. Documents all patient care activities as per documentation standards. Assists the healthcare team with the documentation process. Communication and Collaboration Consistently communicates/collaborates with the health care team members, patients and families to maximize patient outcomes. Appropriately delegates patient care activities to other health care team members and participates in making and revising staff assignments to achieve maximum productivity. Maintains knowledge regarding unit initiatives and incorporates the outcomes of the team/ committees work into practice. Participates on unit teams, work groups and/ or committees. Anticipates needs and voluntarily assists others. Quality Demonstrates knowledge of unit-based quality improvement initiatives. Participates in quality improvement initiatives by utilizing standards, guidelines, and pathways for care delivery. Incorporates evidence-based practice and research findings into nursing practice to enhance outcomes. Qualifications Graduate of accredited school of nursing Proficient in the English language, verbal and written communication skills, computer skills Current Louisiana State license as RN and BLS certification
