Job Summary Does it bring you joy to assist the elderly with daily activities? We are seeking compassionate Caregivers to provide exemplary personal care and companion care to an elderly lady in hospice care in Woodbridge, VA. Shifts are 12 hours, 7:30am to 7:30pm. She is mostly bedbound and will need assistance with transfers, dressing, toileting, eating, and medication reminders. Also assistance with light housekeeping and companionship. She lives with her husband who is self sufficient. Previous experience with hospice is highly desired. CNA license is highly desired. Observe and report any safety hazards found in the client’s home or any significant observations regarding the client. Attend staff meetings, attend/complete 12 hours of annual in-services, and participates in orientation of new employees. Report client complaints to the RN Supervisor. Report abnormal findings in client’s conditions as observed and per care plan to RN. Required Skills & Qualifications Experience: Two years of experience as a Caregiver. Must have CNA license, CNA certificate, PCA, or HHA. About this Job: General Summary of Position The Assistant Director of Ambulatory Nursing (ENT) is a member of MedStar Health entity-based Division of Nursing and leadership team. Supports and collaborates with the Director of Nursing in providing leadership and oversight for a specific unit(s)/office(s)/service line. Directs and coordinates the clinical and patient care delivery of the site/office-based professional and support personnel. Ensures the provision of holistic culturally competent and person-centered quality safe and cost-effective evidence-based nursing care for patients/families. Applies the nursing process within the context of the organization's shared/collaborative decision-making framework. Collaboratively manages the patient's transitions across the continuum of care to assist patients and populations in achieving or maintaining an optimal level of health and functioning.The Assistant Director of Ambulatory Nursing assumes administrative and leadership authority and responsibility for the assigned site/offices. Fosters associates' commitment to improving quality safety and cost-conscious patient care outcomes. The responsibilities of this job include, but are not limited to the following: Locating patients, obtaining accurate vital signs by visual and auditory measures, triaging patients, assessing patients’ medical condition, and preparing patients for physicals and medical treatment by Physicians and Nurses; Understanding and using the electronic medical record system; Ordering lab, x-ray, and medical supplies as directed; Notifying the Nurse and/or Physician when the patient is ready for exam while communicating symptoms and relaying questions about lab or x-ray needs; Assisting Nurses and Physicians with various forms of patient treatment and care; Handling Physician and Nurse requests with respect and in a timely manner; Performing lab duties as assigned; Performing phlebotomy procedures; Sterilizing and setting up instruments; Receiving and storing supplies; restocking treatment rooms as needed; Reporting to the Charge Nurse before leaving at the end of the shift; Following ancillary guidelines as deemed necessary by the Charge Nurse, Nurse Supervisor, DMS, and Physician; Adhering to established policies and procedures; Maintaining cleanliness of the treatment area and completing biological cleanup in accordance with OSHA guidelines and other maintenance assignments as directed; Washing, drying, folding, and restocking laundry; maintaining the cleanliness of the washing machine and dryer lint trap; Attending staff meetings as scheduled by the Nurse Supervisor or DMS; Operating, using, and maintaining medical and office equipment as trained; Completing assigned checklists and Policy Manager tasks within the assigned shift; Being available to assist as needed, as breaks and mealtimes may be interrupted at any time to provide necessary patient care or to maintain center operations; Fostering teamwork and ensuring a positive and professional atmosphere; Providing positive, warm, and friendly service in all interactions; Understanding and performing all duties as assigned. Minimum education and professional requirements include, but are not limited to, the following: Must be 18 years of age or older; Minimum typing experience; High school graduate or equivalent; Minimum of one year of clinical experience in a hospital or physician’s office preferred; Ability to hear pages, bells, and phone system; Ability to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time (possibly 4 to 7 hours at a time); Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; Ability to attend scheduled CPR classes and code drills; Ability to prioritize and multitask; Willingness to work at any center due to a staffing or center emergency or reduction of work. Salary Range: $20.00 - $23.00, depending on experience.
