RN (Registered Nurse) Job Duties: Assists in defining, maintaining and interpreting standards of practice. Count or ensure the counting of controlled drugs with outgoing and incoming shifts. Coordinates/Prepares MDS schedules for quarterly, annual and significant change assessments. Complete MDS Booklet as per schedule (Nursing Sections). Reviews and signs off on all completed MDS and RAP Summary. Develops care plan that demonstrate knowledge of criteria to ascertain resident specific needs based on health care problem(s). Makes needed revisions and updates to the care plans. Ensures that care plan is carried out which demonstrates familiarity with criteria to establish priorities specific to anticipated outcomes. Monitors the provision of care for the residents in his/her assigned unit. Interprets philosophy and objectives of nursing service to residents, families and others. Identifies resident/family learning needs based on the discharge care plan as applicable and carries out appropriate teaching required. Demonstrates ability to coordinate and collaborate with resident/family and other members of the comprehensive health care team. Monitors the administration and accurate recording of medications used. Investigates and follow through on medication errors. Notifies physicians of pertinent observations and reactions, incident and abnormal laboratory and x-ray results as required and documents same promptly. Transcribes physician orders timely and ensure orders are implemented as appropriate. Reports all resident, visitor and work-related accidents/injuries and demonstrates appropriate follow through by investigating, documenting and processing incident reports. Accepts guidance, supervision, and criticism if needed. Practices in compliance with the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory agencies regulations. Assures that a stock level of medications, medical supplies, equipment, etc. are maintained at adequate levels at all times. Assume the authority, responsibility and accountability of directing your nursing shifts. About Our Kids Center: The Our Kids Center specializes in providing forensic medical evaluations for children when there are concerns of child sexual abuse. Serving approximately 750 children in Middle Tennessee each year, Our Kids is a recognized leader in forensic medical evaluations and research in this field. The successful candidate will be a PRN employee at Nashville General Hospital and assigned to the Our Kids Center. Key Responsibilities: · Provide after-hours coverage which includes at a minimum 8 shifts per month, some of which are required to be weekends. [weekday shifts: 5p-8a, weekend/holiday shifts: 8a-8a]. o Triage incoming calls from community partners (DCS, LE, medical providers). o Perform forensic medical evaluations on children and adolescents (birth to 15 years of age) with concerns of acute sexual abuse or assault as part of a multidisciplinary team. · Provide daytime clinic coverage performing non-acute forensic medical evaluations a minimum of 1 weekday per month after training complete. Additional daytime hours will be required during the training period. · Collaborate with law enforcement, Department of Children’s Services, and other community partners during sexual abuse investigations. · Write detailed reports and provide court testimony when required. · Adapt interactions to meet the developmental, cultural, and special needs of each child and family. Organization: Cancer Clinic 10 Job Summary: Supports the licensed healthcare team members in the provision of patient care to include direct patient care, providing healthcare information to patients/families, and following established plan of care. Works in close collaboration with the RN or a licensed healthcare team member to evaluate the patient's plan of care and progress toward goal attainment.
