Organization: 10S Trauma SD Cohort 10 Job Summary: Applies the nursing process to plan and implement the care of patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning. WHAT YOU'LL DO This is a 17 bed unit with a typical nurse to patient ratio of either 1:3 or 1:4. As a Registered Nurse in the Trauma Stepdown you will care for adult patients with traumatic injuries involving multiple body systems care, including: • trauma rehabilitation • traumatic brain Injury • accidental trauma injuries WHAT YOU'LL NEED At least 1 year of RN experience Nursing degree State or Compact License (TN license within 60 days of getting TN address even if compact license) KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Collaborates in establishing the plan of care, coordinates and implements care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum. Analyzes comprehensive information pertinent to the patient's care and management to determine nursing diagnosis. Continually utilizes the nursing process to evaluate patient's progress towards goals and applies appropriate interventions to ensure effective outcomes. Medicine Stepdown- Although our patient population serves adults, we are located on the 14th floor of Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt. The environment on our unit is friendly, focused on teamwork, and flexible to accommodate our patients’ needs. We care for adult patients 18 and older who are being treated for various medical diagnoses. These diagnoses cover a wide range of disease processes, including pulmonary, renal, hepatology, endocrine, and post-procedural patients. Some of our patient population requires knowledge of wound care, as well as care of patients on some continuous medication drips, including insulin. Shift This is a full-time day shift position. The shift if 7:00am - 7:00pm, three times per week for a total of 36 hours per week, including some weekends. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Collaborates in establishing the plan of care, coordinates and implements care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum. Analyzes comprehensive information pertinent to the patient's care and management to determine nursing diagnosis.
