AHCI recently launched its gynecologic oncology program at Abbott Northwestern Hospital, expanding access to specialized care for patients with ovarian, uterine, cervical, and other gynecologic cancers. Full-time position based at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. May provide coverage at other metro Allina Health Cancer Institute locations. Monday through Friday schedule. Combination of outpatient clinic and inpatient rounding responsibilities. This role includes care for active treatment patients, infusion center support, sexual health visits for patients with cancer, and survivorship visits. Surgical first-assist opportunities in the operating room as needed. As a Registered Nurse on the Cardiac/Respiratory Intermediate Care Unit, you will provide care to patients 18 years and older with moderate to potentially severe physiologic instability requiring frequent nursing assessment and intervention every 1 to 2 hours. About our Cardiac/Respiratory IMC Department at UMMC East Bank: The Cardiac/Respiratory IMC is a 22 bed unit. The nurse patient ratio is a mix of 1:2 and 1:3 on all shifts. In This Role You WIll: Provide primarily inpatient GI consult service for patients at the MHealth University of Minnesota Medical Center - East and West Bank campus. Work closely with academic Gastroenterologists and an experienced group of Advanced Practice Providers to care for patients with a diverse range of GI disorders. Support two distinct inpatient consult services (General Gastroenterology and Advanced Endoscopy/Pancreaticobiliary) with occasional support to the Liver Service as needed. The PA or NP is an experienced member of the health care team who uses advanced practice skills with the supervision/collaboration of licensed physicians to provide comprehensive health care services to patients. Our typical patient population consists of patients with observable chest pain, ruling out anything cardiac related, stroke patients, and alcohol withdrawal. We prepare and recover our patients for stress tests, echocardiograms, and cardiac procedures including diagnostic angiograms/stent placement, ablations, pacemakers and ICD insertions, and open heart surgery. Our unit cares for many patients with heart failure and cardiac arrythmias needing IV drips. A member of the interdependent team led by a designated RN, is accountable to perform patient care duties and activities for a group of patients. Performs such care as vital sign checks, bladder scanning, blood sugar testing, documentation of cares provided. Reports patient care data and progress of outcomes to designated RN.
