As a Full-Time Nurse Practitioner , you will provide high-quality primary and preventive care to employees of a premier client at our health center in New York, NY , conveniently located near Central Park. This position offers a consistent 36-hour Monday through Friday schedule : Monday 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, Tuesday–Thursday 8:30 AM–5:00 PM, and Friday 8:00 AM–12:00 PM. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills and experience in women’s health, annual physicals and exams, acute/episodic care, and emergency response . You’ll work as part of a collaborative care team while building meaningful patient relationships and delivering an exceptional level of care. Position Summary To fulfill the needs of Diagnostic Imaging patients in a variety of age groups, their family members, and the community by performing varied patient care tasks and functions in accordance with licensure, certification, training, and regulatory requirements. Education Bachelor`s degree in Nursing required. Current/valid State of New Jersey license (or legal permission to work from the New Jersey Board of Nursing). Completion of general nursing orientation, CPR, ACLS and PALS certification and unit-based orientation. Schedule - 12pm to 8:30 pm 5days a week, including every other weekend, and one holiday a year. Experience Computer and keyboard skills. Medical terminology required. Cat Scan and MRI experience preferred but will provide unit-based training to qualified candidates. Radiology experience preferred; however, willing to train experienced applicants. Skills Physical and cognitive requirements: Position's physical requirements necessitate a full range of body motion including but not limited to, physically assisting patients, requiring stretching, bending, lifting, sitting, kneeling, stooping, standing, walking, pushing and pulling. Responsibilities A. Clinical/Technical/Service Participates in the application of the nursing process to an assigned group of patients. Demonstrates those behaviors which reflect the scientific knowledge, judgment, and technical skills of a Licensed Practical Nurse Performs job duties under supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse. Demonstrates a competent level of approved skilled nursing care tasks and procedures using approved technical skills related to vital signs, pulse oximetry, venipuncture, starting standard peripheral IVs only (not midlines or long peripheral lines), urinary catheter insertion/catheter care; and simple dressings, remove/discontinue a peripheral line. Administer IV fluids, provided completion of annual competency IV therapy training. Monitors patients receiving blood and blood products and TPN under the direction of the RN, who administers the transfusion. Makes recommendations in the application of the nursing process. Participates in planning, and administers direct patient care, including activities of daily living (ADL). Performs point of care testing including blood glucose. Performs nursing procedures as defined in the nursing procedure manual. Administers medication as defined in nursing policy. ALL routes except cannot administer medications IV push/bolus (except for a Normal Saline or heparin flush) or via a central line. LPNs do not administer chemotherapy or immunotherapy. LPNs cannot administer first dose of an IV drug. The RN will administer the first dose of an IV drug and assess for side effects, after which the LPN can administer subsequent doses LPNs working exclusively in chronic outpatient hemodialysis settings may, under the direct supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse (RN) and after completing an approved hemodialysis training and competency program, perform dialysis-related tasks as permitted by the New York State Education Department (NYSED) Office of the Professions and 10 NYCRR §700.4(b). The RN will access and care for patient’s initial catheter use. Subsequently, and following the MSHS CVAD care policy, the LPN can: • Identify and set up supplies necessary for accessing a CVAD. • Initiate treatment with a CVAD. • Draw blood specimens from a CVAD. • Perform CVAD dressing change and exit site care. • Monitor and adjust flow rates of central venous catheter access device/line. • Intervene if there is a catheter/blood line disconnection or other complications associated with a CVAD. • Provide CVAD care at the end of dialysis treatment.
