A Brief Overview Ahuja 5 th floor is a 36 bed medical/surgical unit, in which all beds have cardiac monitoring capability. It is comprised of all private rooms. Our patients range from 18 years old to 100+. On the 5 th floor, an interdisciplinary approach is used to provide safe, patient/centered quality care to those we care for, assisting in returning the patient to his or her optimal potential. The unit is staffed by a Manager, Assistant Nurse Manager, RN’s, LPN’s, PCA’s and Clerical Associates. We work along-side the hospitalist team, community providers as well as many of the hospitals Nurse Practitioners and Physicians assistants. We also have a night shift nurse practitioner and surgical app on most evening shifts. We work well with other hospital departments to provide the best possible care to our patients. A Brief Overview Ahuja 6 th floor is a 36-bed medical-surgical, telemetry, and neuro floor. Our patients range from young adult to geriatric, and have a variety of different medical diagnoses. On the 6 th floor we are committed to providing safe patient care, and we utilize an interdisciplinary team to ensure all of our patients’ needs are being addressed in an efficient manner. The staff consists of RN’s, LPN’s, PCNA’s, nurse managers, and clerical staff; in addition to these positions, we also use The Care Teams of Tomorrow model, which created various positions focusing on supporting bedside staff members. We are very welcoming of new employees, and our onboarding consists of using evidence-based practice to assist staff become oriented to the unit by providing useful feedback, setting learning objectives, teaching hospital protocols, and encouraging critical thinking. Common Diagnoses: Heart failure, chronic kidney disease, arrhythmias, stroke, pneumonia, urinary tract infection, sepsis diabetes, palliative care/hospice Provides safe efficient age specific nursing care to patients/families using the nursing process in order to assist them to attain, maintain, regain, and sustain optimal health status. What You Will Do Implements the nursing process by delivering effective relationship based nursing care. Demonstrates technical skills in care delivery that result in safe practice and positive care outcomes. Kendal at Oberlin's Nursing Department is currently seeking RN's for PRN: 7p-7:30a positions in our Stephens Care Center. The Registered Nurse will act as Nurse Manager having the responsibility of providing leadership in the absence of administration, addressing employee injuries and community resident emergencies during the closed hours of the Health and Wellness Clinic. Additionally, the RN will be responsible for including but not limited to: Demonstrating practical knowledge of all equipment used in the center.
