Position Overview ChristianaCare West Grove Hospital is seeking Inpatient RNs who are clinically strong, adaptable, and able to manage a higher-acuity patient population in a fast-paced micro-hospital environment. This role requires experience with critical drips, cardiac rhythm recognition, respiratory support, and collaboration through Teams and Telemedicine platforms. Candidates must be comfortable supporting short-term stabilization of critically ill patients—including ventilated patients—while awaiting transfer to a higher level of care. Scheduling expectations include weekend coverage, holiday rotation and defined PRN availability requirements to support safe staffing and patient care needs. Job Description Nemours is seeking Nursing Assistant to join our team in Wilmington, DE for our Short Stay Observation Unit. Position is full-time, 60 hrs every two weeks, rotating shifts, with weekend and holiday rotations. 4 West is a 24-four-bed limited-stay unit that typically cares for general medical surgical patients whose care is driven by protocols. The unit consists of single patient care rooms, which can also be isolation rooms. The goal of the unit is to provide very high-quality, high-value patient care within a 72-hour time frame. Each patient room is equipped with oxygen, compressed air and suction, along with state-of-the-art cardiorespiratory bedside monitors and computers that enable the health care team to access a patient’s electronic medical record. These computers are also used in the barcoding administration of medications which ensures patient safety by verifying that the correct medication is given to the appropriate child. Family-centered care rounds are performed daily to assure an interprofessional approach and partnership with the patient and family The nursing assistant role is responsible for assisting with general activities of the patient care unit and assist the health care team with performance of patient care activities, under the direction and guidance of a Registered Nurse. Position Responsibilities Provides age-specific, culturally competent, and ethical care within legal standards of practice. Assesses patient’s immediate pre-operative, intraoperative, and immediate post-operative status at intervals in compliance with organizational policies/procedures. Develops an individualized perioperative patient plan of care. Protects the patient from injury caused by extraneous objects and chemical, electrical, laser, mechanical, and thermal sources. Performs accounting procedures to protect the patient from unintended retained surgical items in compliance with organizational policies/procedures. Performs interventions necessary to ensure that the patient’s procedure is performed on the correct site, side, and level. Manages patient specimens according to organizational policy and procedures.
