OVERVIEW: Assist the Director of Nursing and Assistant Director of Nursing in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the day-to-day functions of the Nursing Department. Maintains quality clinical care for residents/patients in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the Facility. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Supervises the clinical care planning and delivery processes to ensure the coordination of quality patient care. Reviews and updates the care plan accordingly • Assesses residents/clients upon admission and periodically as conditions change • Performs rounds to evaluate patient condition • Provides or assists with the delivery of direct patient care when indicated, including activities of daily living, meal assistance, medication and treatment administration, and leisure activities when indicated • Obtains and implements Physician Orders, checking for accuracy and completeness • Communicates between shifts regarding changes in resident/patient conditions • Ensures a safe and secure environment for patients/residents, staff and visitors • Provides clinical assessment to MD/NPs on call for quality outcomes delivered to patients • Plans, implements and evaluates the clinical competencies and on-going educational/orientation needs of the staff. • Participate in Facility surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies as requested by the Administrator or Director of Nursing Services • Participate in developing, implementing, and periodically updating the resident’s written discharge plan • Ensure that a sufficient number of nursing staff is available for each shift to ensure that quality care is maintained • Make daily rounds of the Nursing Services Department to ensure that all nursing service personnel are performing their work assignments in accordance with acceptable nursing standards. Report findings to the Director of Nursing Services • Review complaints and grievances made or filed by department personnel. Make appropriate reports to the Director of Nursing Services, as required or as may be necessary • Maintain nursing supplies inventory and other responsibilities as required • Assist in the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) process QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE: • Active RN/LPN Nursing License required • Current registration and license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state employed in • Peripheral IV certification • Minimum 5+ years nursing experience in a hospital, nursing home or other healthcare setting and a minimum 1-year experience as a nurse supervisor • CPR/BLS certified • Strong knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to nursing care centers. • The ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language required, knowledge of other language helpful SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Supervises the nursing personnel and the day-to-day nursing activities of the facility during an assigned tour of duty WORK ENVIRONMENT: • This job operates in a health care setting. This role requires regular walking to various locations around the care center • Incumbent may be exposed to virus, disease and infection from patients and specimens in working environment • Incumbent may be required to work extended periods of time at a video display terminal Incumbent may experience traumatic situations, including psychiatric, and deceased patients • Works beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary • Must be able to stay or return to facility during emergency conditions PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. Participate in client education programs on relevant health related issues. Provide staff with ongoing education and tools in order to ensure appropriate responses to medical concerns at all times. Assist in pharmacy reviews and medication security procedures. Collaborate with community hospital leadership and staff to promote collaboration and continuity of care across settings for clients during all phases of hospitalization. Work closely as a liaison with psychiatric and primary care prescribers. Participate in ongoing agency medical leadership meetings. Perform ongoing Electronic Health Record reviews to ensure both regulatory compliance as well as opportunities for Quality Improvement. Assure that any medical problems / issues are communicated to the Primary Care Practitioner and Administrator(s) as necessary, including a follow-up. Other tasks as indicated by leadership. May be asked to travel to offsite meetings and training courses. Documentation Follow up on incident reports as appropriate. The fellowship includes clinical and didactic curricula designed to provide a solid foundation in the management of critically ill patients. Our rotations provide APP fellows with exposure to a wide variety of complex disease processes with rotations in the medical, surgical, trauma, and neurological critical care units. The curriculum includes protected academic time for didactics, simulation-based learning experiences, procedural training, and journal club. The PA or NP fellow practices under the general supervision of a physician. Their scope of practice includes: obtaining a complete medical history; performing a physical examination; ordering and interpreting laboratory tests and imaging studies; formulating a diagnosis and treatment plan; prescribing and/or dispensing medication; assisting in surgery or other invasive procedures; and counseling patients and families under supervision of a physician. In addition, the PA or NP fellow is required to participate in a program of instruction provided by the Fellowship Program and is expected to satisfy the academic requirement of this Program, as determined by the Program Director and the Medical Director. PURPOSE AND SCOPE: Supports FMCNA's mission, vision, core values and customer service philosophy. Adheres to the USV/FMCNA Compliance Program, including following all regulatory and USV/FMS policy requirements. Under the direct supervision of the Facility Manager or Chief Radiology Technologist, performs scrub and circulating duties during interventional procedures according to USV/FMS policies and procedures. Assists with preparation of procedure room, inventory of supplies and stocking of supplies in the procedure room and stock room. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists with the maintenance and setting up of the procedure room in compliance with FMCNA/USV policies and procedures and state and federal regulations. Stocks procedure room and procedure trays with all needed supplies and interventional equipment prior to procedure. Cleans the procedure room including the equipment and machinery post procedure. May assist with preparing the patient for the surgical procedure by positioning, shaving and prepping.
