Our Nurses are responsible for: Provide a high level of customer service to Residents and Team Members by achieving the standards outlined in the MG CARES program. Maintains an attitude of respect and confidentiality at all times towards residents, Team Members, and visitors. Assists with providing management reports as requested. Attends and provides in-service training as directed. Works within the parameters established by Merrill Gardens for resident care as described in the policy and procedures of the community and by state regulations. Provides medication services to residents as allowed by state regulations and outlined in each resident’s service plan. Evaluates residents’ needs and abilities as outlined in each resident’s service plan. Documents the results of services provided and evaluations of the residents’ needs and abilities per state requirements and community procedures. Communicates with families, physicians, and other healthcare professionals as directed and appropriate. Provides direct care to residents according to their identified service needs within Merrill Gardens’ policies and state requirements. Available by phone always while on duty. Other duties as assigned. If you are someone with: Current RN license in the community’s state. 1-year experience in nursing (preferably geriatric care) minimum. Physical Requirements: This role involves frequent standing, walking, lifting (up to 75 lbs), and assisting with resident care. Department Overview Five ambulatory oncology infusion rooms located in the Portland metro area. Chair/bed number ranges from 10-15 depending on site. Provide care to both Oncology and non-Oncology patients. Open 7 days a week including holidays and weekends. Department Specific Working Conditions: Shared and collaborative infusion space. We collaborate with KCI Ambulatory Oncology Clinics, Dietitians, Pharmacy, Social Work, Case Management and other members of the multidisciplinary health care team to provide exceptional oncology care for our patients and community. Our teams support programs that include, but are not limited to, the Hepatic Arterial Infusion Pump program, Phase I Clinical Trials, and the OHSU Cellular therapy programs. Patient Populations Hematologic Malignancies: Leukemia, Lymphoma, Myeloma, Allogeneic/ Autologous Transplant, CAR-T, TIL, DLI, etc. Medical Oncology: Sarcoma, Head and Neck, Breast, Lung, GI/GU, Prostate, etc. Classical Hematology: Bleeding disorders, clotting disorders, anemias, white blood cell disorders, platelet disorders. Other: Our infusion unit serves a variety of populations requiring interventional treatments only available at the CHO Ambulatory Oncology Outpatient Infusion Unit. Required Qualifications Must have 2-years of nursing experience. BSN Graduates: Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from a program accredited by Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (CNEA) 30 days before start date. ADN Graduates: Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program 30 days before the start date. Associate degree Nurses required to enroll in BSN program within 3 years of hire and complete within 5 years of hire Current, unencumbered Oregon State Registered Nurse License BLS at time of hire and must be issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) BLS must not expire during orientation The RN must meet one oncology provider qualification: ONS Chemotherapy/ Biotherapy provider card upon hire.
