ED/ICU/RAD Coordinator/Procedural RN

The RN Coordinator of the ED/ICU is a Registered Nurse (RN) who has experience in nursing practice with demonstrated leadership and management skills in the acute care hospital Emergency/ICU specialty. The RN Coordinator of ED/ICU collaborates with the Nurse Manager to provide leadership for all staff on the unit and directs the planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care programs. Support a patient care system that encourages professional practice of staff and results in quality, cost-effective care outcomes. b. Demonstrate clinical knowledge by providing consultation to staff, assisting with patient care as needed, and acting as a resource to staff and consultant to other departments throughout the organization. d. Collaborate with the Providers/Hospitalist team to ensure the safest and highest quality of care for the patients. D. EDUCATION/OUTREACH a. Identify and establish additional clinical learning opportunities for students in various health care disciplines in the unit (as appropriate). In conjunction with nursing faculty, monitor students’ performance. b. Collaborate with the Clinical Educator to continually review educational opportunities for the clinical staff. c. Description Duties Description Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse Supervisor 1 (Psychiatric) or a Registered Nurse 2 (Psychiatric), incumbents serve as members of a multidisciplinary team performing a variety of nursing and client care activities designed to ensure that clients receive all necessary care in accordance with the nursing care plan, established protocols, and standards of health care. Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Provides direct nursing care to clients, including comprehensive admission assessments, dispensing medication, providing physician-ordered medical treatment, transcribing orders, and collection of specimens for laboratory analysis or culture. Provides health education to clients, monitors client behavior and participates in treatment planning. Assesses the needs of clients, which can include an assessment of care received, services available, and work environments to identify potential obstacles to success. Handles crisis intervention with clients (psychological, physiological and behavioral). Maintains accurate and detailed reports and records electronically and/or physically as appropriate. Additional Comments Registered Nurse 1 Psychiatric - $76,147 - $85,138 Plus Geographic Pay - $20,000 The salary range listed for this posting reflects the full range for this graded position, factoring in annual performance advances based on satisfactory annual performance reviews. Candidates with no previous State service will begin at the hiring rate (starting rate of the salary range) listed above, plus any applicable Location Pay/Geographic Pay/Shift Pay differentials. Promotion salaries are calculated by the NYS Office of the State Comptroller in accordance with NYS Civil Service Law, OSC Payroll rules and regulations, and negotiated union contracts.
