Job Description: ENT and Allergy Associates (ENTA), one of the nation’s largest ENT, Allergy, and Audiology practices, is seeking a Full-Time Medical Assistant for our Yonkers office. Hourly: $23/hr Responsibilities: Welcome patients in person or by phone; respond to or route inquiries appropriately Prepare patients for appointments by directing or accompanying them to exam rooms Verify and record patient information, including medical history and reason for visit Assist providers during examinations and procedures Prepare laboratory specimens and perform basic in‑office lab testing Maintain sterile instruments and properly dispose of contaminated supplies Educate patients on medications and provide instructions as directed Accurately document examinations, treatments, and test results Maintain inventory of medical supplies and ensure equipment is functioning properly Uphold patient confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA regulations Job Requirements & Qualifications: Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment Ability to work independently and as part of a team Previous Medical Assistant experience preferred Experience with Epic EMR preferred Strong patient service skills with a commitment to delivering a positive patient experience Education / Certification Requirements: Completion of a Medical Assistant program or certification such as CMA or RMA. Description Identifies, evaluates and enrolls patients into Mount Sinai at Home programs. Role is on site and integrated into clinical teams at our health system hospitals working directly with patients and clinical teams in the ED and hospital floors. Coordinate telephonically from office setting. Ensures correct admission orders and home safety/eligibility for program. Responsibilities • Identify and evaluate patients for appropriateness for Mount Sinai at Home programs • Possess clinical knowledge, experience to identify, present and discuss potential patients for program inclusion across multiple medical specialties and locations. • Facilitate coordination and communication between all members of the care team to coordinate admissions • Ensure knowledge and acceptance of Mount Sinai at Home with patients, family members, and ED/hospital teams • Maintain all required documentation • Interact with patients and teams to coordinate services ordered for physicians, move care plans forward • Clearly community transition plans and information to all members of care team • Build and maintain collaborative professional working relationships with physicians, nurses, community • Screen and question patients and families to ensure safe home environments • Ensure that patients have access to appropriate services to meet their provider directed care plan admission needs • Comply with policies, procedures and regulatory mandates including abiding to the terms of MSHS compliance • Demonstrates professional, courteous and respective attitude with patients, families, hospital staff • Service as primary point of communication between inpatient teams and Hospital at Home • Answers telephonic and email correspondences from patients, caregivers and healthcare providers • May be required to perform other duties as assigned or perform other duties when necessary Qualifications Graduation from an accredited Nursing program. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. (BSN) Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) RN who is matriculated in a BSN Program with a graduation date within the year. LOCATIONS AVAILABLE : BRONX and BROOKLYN POSITION OVERVIEW: The RN is responsible for the complete nursing care and performance of all routine medical procedures within the scope of the nursing practice. The RN is responsible for supervising LPN’s, AMAP and Direct Support Professionals (milieu counselors) in the performance of nursing tasks and activities. The RN must possess a working knowledge of NYS rules and regulations and JBFCS policies and procedures. The RN must be capable of supervising, understanding and working effectively with diverse populations. KEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Provide direct nursing care as prescribed by the physician/Nurse Practitioner, in compliance with recognized nursing standards and State and Federal regulations. Uses nursing process to make continuing assessments of our client’s total health needs. Perform nursing assessments, by direct physical examination. Develop and implement an individualized plan for nursing service. The nursing care plan must be updated at least annually or whenever there is significant change in the client’s condition. Coordinate all acute and ongoing health services, as indicated by need and regulatory mandate. Monitor health and behavioral status, labs and efficacy of prescribed treatments. Ensure timely communication of findings to appropriate clinical personnel. Ensure that all medical record documentation is accurate, timely and outcome based and reflected in the nursing notes. Provide health education to all clients and their support system. Provide initial and ongoing, but at a minimum frequency of annually, training to staff in all nursing tasks, functions, protective and preventive health measures. Provide training and ongoing support to staff regarding medication administration, infection control, and other training deimed appropriate. In conjunction with the Director of Nursing, interview and determine candidacy of other RN and LPN applicants. Responsible for supervision, discipline and scheduling of L.P.N’s staff hours. Maintain documentation of all training curriculums, attendance and post training testing. Must have experience and ability in working with electronic health record management, electronic care coordination and electronic health record interface with external service providers. Active participant in the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT). On call availability. All other duties, as assigned. EDUCATIONAL / TRAINING REQUIRED: Active, unrestricted New York State license as a Registered Professional Nurse. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED / LANGUAGE PREFERENCE: • Managerial experience preferred. • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Ability to work in a team environment. • Must be able to work independently and possess sound independent judgment and decision making skills. COMPUTER SKILLS REQUIRED: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications required. VISUAL AND MANUAL DEXTERITY: The candidate should be able to read documents for analytical purposes such as health charts, spreadsheets, etc. Possess the manual dexterity necessary for handling medical equipment, administering medications, and performing clinical procedures. WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL EFFORT Ability to walk, sit, stand, and bend as necessary to assess and provide care to clients effectively in various settings. Must be capable of responding swiftly to emergencies, which may involve moving quickly to the scene, performing CPR, and utilizing appropriate emergency protocols. Proficient in lifting, transferring, and repositioning clients safely when needed, ensuring the comfort and safety of both clients and staff. Maintain the physical stamina to perform nursing duties throughout the shift, including prolonged periods of standing and walking, while remaining attentive to patient needs.
