Job Description BCH Oakland Day Hospital Infusion Center serves the Specialty populations at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital. The treatments include but are not limited to apheresis, chemotherapy, biotherapy, immunotherapy, blood transfusions, hydration and electrolyte therapy, injections and blood draws, enzymes and iron infusions, and antibiotics. The center consists of 14 beds, and treatments include research and standard of care infusions. The infusion centers are staffed by Nurses, Medical Assistants, and a Practice Coordinator. This position requires the incumbent to utilize the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation to provide safe, therapeutic care. Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams; carries out established nursing procedures and performs related duties as required; performs nursing care for patients with complex needs. Nurse Practitioner - Pediatric ICU

Job Description UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital is recognized throughout the world as a leader in health care, known for innovation, technology and compassionate care. UCSF has one of the top children's hospitals in the nation, according to a ranking by U.S. News & World Report. Our 183-bed UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital has more than 150 specialists in more than 40 areas of medicine. The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital provides extraordinary high-level care for children who require continuous monitoring. The unit has 20 beds for infants and children suffering from a variety of conditions or recovering from surgery. More than 1,000 children per year are admitted into the intensive care units at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital arriving via ambulance, helicopter and airplane from throughout the western United States. The Pediatric Transitional Care Unit (TCUP) is a 18-bed unit for infants and children suffering from a variety of conditions or recovering from surgery. The TCU provides care to patients with a moderate to high complexity of disease such as those recovering from solid organ transplantation, titration of anticoagulant therapy and other infusion, and post-operative specialty surgery care (ENT, neurosurgery). Patients requiring respiratory support including BIPAP, CPAP, high flow nasal cannula and patients requiring mechanical ventilation with tracheostomy in place are also routinely admitted to the TCUP. The Nurse Practitioner will act as a full member of the team taking responsibility for the safe delivery of care in collaboration with attending physicians, fellows and residents. This team member will meet productivity expectations as set forth by the Division Chief, performing any duties related to patient care activities that are appropriate and clearly delineated. Nurse Practitioners on the PICU and TCUP Team provide care in rotating 12h shifts. We Provide paid training and help you with the registration process. · Completion of a criminal background check and disclosure of any criminal history or evidence of exemption. · Evidence of entry-level training or plan to complete paid training prior to client care and in accordance with CA regulations. · Evidence of tuberculosis testing and verification that the home care aide does not have active tuberculosis. · Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care given. · Self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision. · Empathy for the needs of the ill, injured, frail and the impaired. · Demonstrates tact, patience, and good personal hygiene. · Valid driver’s license and auto insurance and/or reliable transportation required. Physical Demands · Regularly required to sit, use hands or fingers, handle, or feel and talk or hear. · Required to reach with hands and arms. · Required to stand, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and taste or smell. · Must be able to lift and or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and or move from 25 up to 50 pounds. · Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
