As an Advanced Practice Provider Fellow , you will complete advanced clinical and professional training post-licensure to gain specialized knowledge in a selected field of practice. Perform routine charting duties as required and in accordance with our established Charting and Documentation Policies and Procedures. Responsible for completion of admission, discharge, and transfer processes. Prepare and administer medications and treatments if appropriate as ordered by the physician. Review medication record for completeness of information, accuracy in the transcription of the physician’s order, and adherence to stop order policies. Administer professional services such as: catheterization, tube feedings, suction, applying and changing dressings/bandages, packs, colostomy, and drainage bags, care of the dead/dying, etc., as required. Participate in the orientation of new customers/family members to the facility. Arrange for diagnostic and therapeutic services, as ordered by the physician. Notify the customer’s attending physician and family when there is a change in the customer’s conditions. Obtain sputum, urine and other lab tests as ordered. Take and record TPR’s, blood pressures, accuchecks, etc., as necessary. Contact the customer’s physician for: Nursing assessment of change of condition. Medication orders or charges. Qualifications Minimum Job Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities): Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education, (BSN, etc.) required Current RN state license required Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required Current ONS/ONCC® Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate required within 90 days of start Must maintain any applicable continuing education requirements 3-5 years nursing experience required including at least one year in oncology preferred Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification strongly preferred Working Conditions: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
