Participates in departmental and hospital committee meetings. 7. Participates in quality improvement activities. 8. Maintains professional educational development as related to evidenced-based practice. 9. Maintains a reciprocal relationship with the Clinical Managers/Directors to assure unit productivity. 10. Monitors and assesses need to secure additional supplies. 11. Rounds on assigned unit(s) and consults with the nursing staff to verify that patient needs are being met. 12. Assesses and coordinates the flow of critical care patients to optimize resources. 13. Acts rapidly and competently, follows hospital policies and procedures in any emergency situation. 14. Ensures organizational policies, procedures, standards and practices are communicated and followed by staff. 15. Identifies and allocates resources according to budgetary expectations, benchmarking data, standards of nursing practice and ethical principles of care. Physical Requirements: 1. Occasional lifting of 30-35 lbs and turning patients. 2. Prolonged standing and walking. 3. Occasional twisting, bending, reaching, pushing/pulling, sitting, kneeling, and squatting. 4. Exposure to infectious disease and possible carcinogenic chemicals. 5. Exposure of blood-borne pathogens. 6. Requires fine manual dexterity to lift and maneuver patients. 7.
