A caregiver in this position works Day/Evening/Night/Weekend, from 7:00pm—7:30am or 7:00am—7:30pm. Rotating shifts provide a comprehensive view of patient journey – night shift performs pre-OptCare, screenings and day shift performs post-op testing, procedures, physician rounding. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Supervise and coordinate unit clinical operations. Provide patient care. Facilitate communication and collaboration among unit caregivers and other departments/units. Review major operational patient care issues with Nurse Managers. Provide ongoing clinical evaluations of caregivers, counsel caregivers on performance issues, administer initial corrective actions and monitor attendance issues. Interview, select and orient new caregivers. Prepare work schedules to ensure adequate coverage on all shifts. Reviews & interprets the medical and social history. Performs appropriate medical screening procedures/exams. Provides contraceptive methods: oral and topical contraceptives; provides/oversees contraceptive injections. Begins training and/or completes privileging for device insertion and removal (implants, IUCs) and EMB. Provides emergency contraception. Performs medical assessment and management of basic STI and genito-urinary conditions. Provides perimenopausal and menopausal services. Counsels pregnant women on all pregnancy outcome options Provides pre and post abortion care Acts as a medical consultant to clinic staff. Manages emergency situations in the center. Is compliant with OSHA, CLIA and State Board of Pharmacy procedures, policies and regulations. Participates in staff meetings related to center management and provides staff training in current medical procedures relevant to reproductive health.
